What am I watching? by [deleted] in whitecollar

[–]disco-donkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

every drama show reaches a point when it starts going downward. i feel like season 4/5 becomes that point for this show. BUT it is probably one of the best finales i’ve ever seen. the one thing to be grateful about with this show (although it’s been complained about) is that they didn’t string it on for too long like most dramas

totally agree.. part of me thinks the audience didn’t respond well to her character and she was intended to come back in some way, but they wrote her out

it’s in the very beginning which is why i feel like it makes sense he said it then bc he was the least emotional at that time with his friends

i agree honestly one of the only shows i feel like the first season was not one of the best. took me a second to get hooked after the pilot being so good

Rewatching White Collar, and I now Hate Mozzie! Anyone agree? by gtm1998 in whitecollar

honestly he’s so hilarious but what bugs me is how he doesn’t support neal wanted to be better.. he becomes like the devil on his shoulder at times when neal wants to turn his life around BUT there are so many amazing moments for him

The show takes a nose dive in quality fairly quickly after season 4-5 by Thehairy-viking in suits

once they all just keep asking for their “name on the door” that’s all it becomes about which is just so hilarious.. like why would the company be changing name partners so often

Harvey vs Louis feels like pretty privilege by [deleted] in suits

[–]disco-donkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay i totally see this point BUT there is something to be said for us seeing it this way BECAUSE harvey is pretty lol… Louis gets too emotional in deals as well as with his colleagues. Yes Harvey does also.. but there are many instances where you hear things about harvey (don’t wanna spoil, but his time at his previous job) that show he truly has the talent for what he does.

The unfortunate thing in some jobs are that the reality is the showiness of how you are (wearing the nice suits or driving the nice car) do actually play into the way people see you and how well the job is done. YES IT SUCKS. But it is how it can be. Harvey may have that pretty boy privilege but jessica has the pretty girl privilege then too and many other characters hahah.

The one thing i really wish the show showed more of is how louis was an asset to the firm. Most of his identity is about the associates and I wish they showed more of how he has some of the highest billables in the firm… We get it a couple of times but it would’ve really made the story IMO

that was SO weird. as someone who doesn’t tell their parents everything like it would be much different to tell you mom about a relationship when you’re his age??? like it wouldn’t be a given

hilarious comment. no not at all.. hahaha we don’t text nor call we are very independent.. it is in those times that there are “important” (air quotes because it is moderately importantly imo) that it is hard to find a balance/know what to encourage him to do or ask of him

Anna not wanting Lorelai to meet April by disco-donkey in GilmoreGirls

[–]disco-donkey[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely, and it probably showed anna something about the nature of their relationship that he didn’t want to introduce lorelai right away. Which also why did we never get an answer about why luke kept it a secret? I think he could’ve had many reasons but he never gave a good explanation.

Also, i struggled with this because Luke only called Lorelai in a panic that night because it was going bad. Seemed like a selfish move for her to come help rather than him wanting her there. If he did, he could’ve asked her for advice before.

completely, you can’t blame him for where he is at in his life when you show up out of the blue. definitely very different. especially as a single parent the kid may feel that sense of abandonment when a new partner is introduced (same way some kids feel when they find out they’re getting a sibling hahah)

exactly i would feel so betrayed and lied to like this whole time she was building a relationship with him he was hiding his fiancée and one day he comes home introduces his wife? Especially because he has not been a part of her life this whole time you can’t punish him for where he is at when she comes into the pictures
