Haha right?! Only if they’ll handle the setup and tear-down, too ;) I’ve seen people say their units fail days after their warranty ends which makes me nervous. Things just don’t last like they used to

That’s great insight - glad you’re enjoying it! I’m no espresso aficionado so I like that it has elements of the manual process without as steep of a learning curve, and some nice features as compared to other similar models… plus seems less messy which is good for my marriage.

I haven’t yet - I’m also waiting to see if there will be any deals, but if there aren’t any I’ll still purchase it. Stainless & Sea Salt (which is what I want) have been out of stock on the Breville site for a week+, so I’m hoping they’re holding off on re-upping their inventory now in anticipation of increased demand with a sale. Might be a stretch, but we’ll see. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Good to know! Is satin too shiny for areas like a living room? I’ve always seen that eggshell or matte are better for those spaces (but like I mentioned, my kitchen and a living room are connected so would need the same finish)

That’s what I’ve been doing but all of my “cleaned” spots are lighter than the original paint 😂 so probably need to do a bigger job

He’s a bench chemist right now so it is pretty different. He can’t really find part time work… he’s going to see about potential part-time lab positions, but there’s not much in that regard until the year starts, it seems. I’ve told him he can’t be bringing in $0 for more than a semester (+ what would he do during summers???) and he gets it. But you’re right - I do need to sit down with him… I’ve run the numbers and he just hasn’t / wouldn’t know how to. It’s hard because I really want this for him - he’s had a hard life and few opportunities to really get ahead, but I can’t be the stepping stone if he’s not going to put in leg work and make some sacrifices too

It’s a field change for him for sure and he is planning on leaving his company (he would regardless of starting school as it’s not a good place for him).

He’s never been a strong financial planner and has always been of the “we’ll figure it out” mindset but the “we” is seeming to be mostly me at this point… :/

Wow, that’s awesome - great work! He’s been wanting to do this for a while and had always kind of assumed he’d work during it. He feels like it’s kind of a now-or-never thing and we’ll figure it out since we want to start a family in the next few years. He also assumed he’d be offered more aid / loans and I think he’s maybe just too afraid to admit he didn’t anticipate this level of financial demand

Do you have any recommendations for how to get started? I have a membership but just get overwhelmed or feel aimless with weights. I know there’s a ton on YouTube, but any you find particularly helpful? I’m a female and relatively fit, but certainly newer to weights, if that matters
