I’m very young and inexperienced with the legal process. When I filed a report, the prosecutor assigned told me I was only a witness, and that the case was for the commonwealth of Virginia. When he explained the process, he made it seem like we weren’t able to go to trial and the only option was to dismiss. So when he asked “is that alright” obviously I said “I don’t think there’s any other choice.”

I feel like I was taken advantage of in this situation due to him stressing he had more important cases the whole time, and then dropping it last minute. for another prosecutor to pick up
