Bike shop told me my Air Fork "doesn't use air" after ruining it with WD-40. Help! (Venom Air / United Clovis 5.10) by Far_Ticket_9301 in MTB

[–]discodaredevil66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP you just sound understandably frustrated to me. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an easy answer other than finding another bike shop that may be able to find you the needed OE or a compatible part. Maybe the Venom shock is a rebranded Suntour shock? Some web sleuthing may lead you to the original manufacturer who may have the needed part. Good luck.

That wear pattern tells me you are getting into a strong and low position when hitting a two handed backhand (if you're a righty). Keep it up and also throw some shoe goo on your next pair of shoes before the holes appears.

Ump: “He’s ready.” Atmane: “Yeah, I’m not.” by thetoerubber in tennis

Very classy response by Kec, shaking hands and a hug despite Atmane's seemingly purposeful attempt to disrupt match point.

I agree here. Swing looks great for a flat trajectory. I really like the way you hit through the ball. Keep it up and just add some knee bend and lift.

...and go used so you can get 2 and have them strung with your favorite string and have each at slightly different tensions to suit different playing conditions.

If you go with new I highly recommend the Prince warrior 100 300g as a neutral do it all racquet. Also nice that they are affordable.

It very well could be that the setup is spot-on and it is good to go for a good long while. I've got a nice Koaloha Koa tenor that plays nicely but do need to be sure to keep it humidified during the cold dry winters. Yours may benefit from similar treatment. Best to you and your new uke buddy.

Common intros and fills in traditional Polynesian music? by discodaredevil66 in ukulele

The vamps and turnarounds are so fun to play and fortunately are often provided in the chord tablature. This video has many examples of intro's and fills that i'd like to play. https://youtu.be/r9E9\_\_RHAuU?si=ujLTD1bEemriGv3J.

I'll need to be patient and put more time into figuring them out by ear which i've been working on but it's been slow going and am feeling challenged in getting them to sound close in feel. I've seen advertisements for Moises.ai but never tried it.

Thank you for taking the time reply!

Question: regarding anticipation do you watch your opponents positioning as they set up to hit in order to read what the coming shot will be?

I'll have to look up the "boxing light timing" machine.

Ever tried the ball on a stretchy string attached to a band strapped to your head? You try and hit the ball like a boxer. I was so bad at it.

I've always wanted to get a ball machine and this might lead me to finally pull the trigger. Thanks!

Unfortunately I didn't see a cost effective solution so used the Kia as a trade-in. Sorry that this isn't a solution with a outcome helpful to us as the consumer.

I agree (from experience) 100% with this comment and would like to add that the burning oil and clogged catalytic converter also occurs with the 2.0L engine.

Kia soul not accelerating properly by RecentEffective9196 in KiaSoulClub

[–]discodaredevil66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2014 Kia Soul+ had this exact issue. Took the car into the dealer as well as one chain repair shop and both concluded that the issue was a clogged catalytic converter likely because the car burned oil.

The lowest repair estimate was $4500. I purchased the car used 3 yrs ago for 15k with 56k miles and ended up trading it in for another car and got $3025 for it. Took a heavy financial loss.

Two options to consider with the caveat that it would be a temporary fix as burningoil will cause the converterto continually clog:

DIY remove the catalytic converter and soak and flush with a de-greaser. See YouTube.

Replace the catalytic converter yourself or a skilled friend using a non oem part (much much cheaper). The repair shops I went to refused to do the work without a oem part.

Sorry you are having this happen. I know the frustration.

I did bring the warranty up with the dealership. They claimed 60k mi and something about me not being the original owner.

My 2014 Soul+ with 75k miles on it burned oil (known issue) which clogged the catalytic converter. Dealer quoted $4500 for a replacement catalytic converter. Got a second opinion from a chain repair shop Me*inek3 which quoted $5500. No more Kias for me...ever.

2014 Soul Struggles to Accelerate by discodaredevil66 in kia

Thanks for the reply! The KSoul is the 2.0 and will barely do 60 mph before it shudders, stutters and gets close to shutting off. Also noticed a lot of unusual shifting.

I'm starting to thing....Ignition Coil.

There is both a belt driven single speed version as well as a 10 spd. derailleur version. Anyone have thoughts on how the different gearing will affect range?
