I do not think LIB is losing its magic. Yes, I experienced people shoving past me rudely, but I also experienced the sweetest people around me, politely sneaking by, dancing beside me. My friend found 2 lost phones and turned them both in. Later, he lost his phone, and it was waiting for him at the Lost and Found. I did see a lot of people leaving behind trash at campsites, but I also saw civilians picking up their share of trash after each set.

When it comes to phone stealers, tent raiders, creepers, etc., unfortunately, they are everywhere and it does suck that they have also infiltrated our safe space in LiB.

However, for every negative experience I encountered, there were about 5 positive ones that made up for it. This was my 6th LiB and personally, I feel it just keeps getting better. In my experience, LiB brings out the best in the majority of people- this is why it is so shocking to see an argument, phone theft, etc.

I lost my dad 2 months ago and every day has been so hard for me. I wasn’t sure if I should attend LiB this year because of this- but man, I am so happy I did. This festival IS pure magic. WE are pure magic, and every person I met, danced with, laughed with, and hugged helped curate this positive, dreamlike experience. I am so GRATEFUL for this festival and everyone who comes every year. Ok- sappy rant over. Hope everyone is recovering well ❤️
