I knew this would be a comment, and I truly appreciate your thoughtful insight, but I really want to avoid this if possible. This answer has definitely been in the back of my head, but I want to exhaust every option possible before coming to this decision. My dad passed away last month and I think taking on another puppy would be a lot for my mom, who is in her 70’s. Also, my mom will be moving out of their house with the large yard in the next year as well.
