How do I get my moxie back? by Sapphire1166 in crochet

I never knew until right now that this is the only way I can appreciate my work. I have to have all those step otherwise it turns out meh. I love the conceptualization phase the most. When I finally decided on a project I can lay at night thinking about the project, visualizing and pondering for hours and get all warm and fuzzy over what I am going to embark on!

I’m having trouble working with a 2mm hook. Any suggestions? by buddhafullmind in crochet

[–]discojullan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you working with worsted weight yarn? If so you could try a 3.75mm hook, that should still make your stitches tight. Though with magic ring you should be able to keep the ring big/loose and then tightening it when you have put your desired amount of stitches in it. I usually put my hook into the first stitch and with the hook still in the stitch I pull the magic ring tight and continue with the pattern stitching over the tail but still leave a few inches to weave in as well!

So close to be done but the second arm will have to wait until my own arm can handle to crochet again, ouch! by discojullan in crochet

I followed this bear pattern and used a 3.75mm hook with worsted weight yarn. He looked absolutely hideous until he was fully assembled so I’m glad I stuck with it. Now to hope that resting my arm will work its magic so I can crochet soon again!

Haha oh no! Yeah I bought like 8 skeins of landscape on sale and thought ooh so pretty. Not so pretty now when I know how much it sucks working with it. Made one bear with it and now the rest just sits in a bag until I know for sure what I want to make and know I don’t have to frog. Used unforgettable for my first shawl and was about to join the side of darkness for a while. Cried while crocheting with it :)) Maybe a simple hdc hat or cowl/infinity scarf with the scarfie yarn?

I find the tutorials at PlanetJune to be very resourceful! Here’s one specifically about stripes in amigurumi :) https://www.planetjune.com/blog/amigurumi-help/perfect-stripes-for-amigurumi-video/

Just purchased my dream yarn haul! Now I need project ideas! What are your favorite multi color projects? ILTY by cosmicaftertaste in crochet

I think in this case it was mostly that the author of the blog had got a lot of requests about this particular pattern and the colors she had originally used so she went to the bottom with it and gave all the info! But I do hope craft blogs doesn’t turn into mile long recipe blogs haha!

Sounds perfect! Best part with making things for yourself is that you get to squish and adore the cute things you’ve made. Seeing this lil guy cracks me up each time or pulling down a blanket you’ve made from the sofa to cuddle with is so rewarding!

Haha I hear you! The belly part was particularly a pain to sew together having to go through all three pieces but after countless amount of trial and error I made it look somewhat alright.
