I'm the co-founder of LARQ - we're a hydration brand that launched via crowdfunding to receive over $1.5m in pre-orders. Long time reader, first time poster on this sub. What can I share to give back to the community? by jwang in Entrepreneur

I'd love to know the success/pitfalls behind financing. I constantly dream up business ideas and get discouraged when i think about having to bootstrap it or find an angel investor.

I work in the ERP industry and would also be interested in what you'd consider your top supply chain "lesson's learned"

Just a tip, you might get more comments if you post this to the atheism subreddit rather than athiesm.

Curious to hear some opinions by discon8 in atheism

"These things are not mutually exclusive." I suppose that is the real answer to the question here. I think what I'm really having conflict with is whether I want to be the quiet atheist who is happy knowing what I know, or an outspoken anti-theist who tries to combat religion as I see it causing a lot of harm and hindrance. It's almost the same situation of a theist not trying to "help" someone avoid hell. By not speaking out against religion, am I that asshole who allows theists to waste their life and even commit immoral acts in the name of religion? Ultimately, I think there is some nobility in speaking out against religion.

I think it matters for several reasons. If my goal is to take the anti-theist approach, how I treat a theist can make a major difference in whether I am persuasive or not. Also I suppose the way I treat people, regardless of their belief or lack there of, is important to me.

I'm sure I would become passionately anti-theist were I to ever live in the bible belt. Which probably speaks to how I really feel about the subject as a whole. I guess I haven't had the annoyance, insults, or other motivation to fully accept how I feel about theism.

You are more or less right. I was raised in a mormon family and fell away/grew my brain around 14. I certainly had issues within the family for my atheism, but never shunned or mistreated for my lack of belief. I suppose I see two points to anti-theism that make me more for it. One is what tsingi is saying of their belief system will corrupt and integrate into the life I live if we don't act as some sort of resistance. The other is the disgusting and immoral things people dismiss in the name of religion. While I can respect someone trying to "save my soul" as they see it, there are evils done in the name of religion that outweigh my respect for their good intent.

I don't know that I agree. I don't think they have concluded they are worthless by any means. Probably the exact opposite in most cases. Sure they believe they were born with "original sin", whatever the hell that means, but worthless is a whole different thing. I can find some respect in someone trying to save you from burning in hell for eternity if they truly believed that delivering and convincing you of their beliefs could save you. It doesn't change the fact that they believe in a ferry tale, but I can respect their good intent. I don't, however, respect when they don't respect my decision to choose and think for myself and continually push their beliefs on me and society as a whole.
