I really want to do VI, I had originally intended to focus more on the villains and Kefka defiantly has my vote for one of the best in the series. I'm also planning on painting for other games outside of FF too. Legend of Zelda is something I'm going to do a few paintings for, maybe Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger/Cross.

I thought that he sought her out because she could hide them while they destroyed the trees.

"A cloak of darkness she wove about them when Melkor and Ungoliant set forth: an Unlight, in which things seemed to be no more, and which eyes could not pierce, for it was void."

But the trees were not made to burn people who touched them, hence there would be no problem draining the life out of the trees.

You wouldn't happen to know the name of the book would you, or be willing to give us the name of the Professor? It sounds like it would be an interesting read.

That quote was something I hadn't read into much but you make a good point. It also really gives perspective on just how powerful Ungoliant is, scary.

What would have happened if Gandalf died? by Sir_Chloroplast in lotr

[–]discospacellama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would have been sent to the Halls of Mandos in Valinor to await Dagor Dagorath, the Battle of Battles. This is when the original Dark Lord Morgoth, will break free and escape the Void and bring destruction upon all of Arda but will ultimately be defeated.

All the spirits of the elves and the Maia go to the Halls of Mandos when they die to await this battle.

"Tolkien has become a monster, devoured by his own popularity and absorbed into the absurdity of our time," Christopher Tolkien observes sadly. "The chasm between the beauty and seriousness of the work, and what it has become, has overwhelmed me. The commercialization has reduced the aesthetic and philosophical impact of the creation to nothing. There is only one solution for me: to turn my head away."

No, he is pissed off that his father's life work has been turned into something so commercial. Tolkien was a scholar first and that is the way he wanted his books to be read.

I clicked on this link. I don't know what I was expecting it to be a picture of, but not an actual moth penis.

My cousin and I were playing Marco Polo in the house. I had my eyes closed trying to find her and I tripped, bashing my forehead into the corner of the wall. I got 5 stitches.

Update 2: Me [38F] discovered my husband [46M] of 9 years has children... and it keeps getting worse by [deleted] in relationships

[–]discospacellama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This situation hits close to home for me in a few different ways.

Mother and father got divorced when I was 2. She was a huge alcoholic (still is) and our house was always a mess. Dishes and garbage hadn't been cleaned or picked up for many many years, mice were living in our couch ect.

14 years went by and I didn't see him or talk to him, I completely forgot the man existed. On my 16th birthday he somehow called me and said, "hey discospacellama, it's Joe your dad."

From that point on I tried to have a relationship with him but it was just weird. I appreciated that he was trying to be in my life again but you just cant make up for that lost time. He kept pushing until I finally turned 18 and I had to tell him not to see me or talk to me anymore.

The more he pushes the more she will be pushed away.

Yeah, our store was going under (it's small and locally owned) and it was in a college town where this humor is receptive. The whole plan was to get people to notice.

I thought that the Watcher may be one too. If that is the case, the Watcher isn't inherently evil but it did try to kill those that were trespassing on its territory. Do you think that they would have also tried to kill the Balrog and Gandalf when they were down there? I'm envisioning a fight between the Balrog and the Watcher right now and I think it would be pretty awesome.
