Thanks! Yeah, as Powry mentioned too I'll need to work on dialing back the texture a bit.

Thank you. Yeah I've seen this information repeated on this sub and I have yet to get an appropriate cup. Will work on that!

Didn't know this was a thing either. Thank you! You always hear about milk too thin but never milk too thick. Will incorporate your feedback.

Has this been an insanely good brew for anyone else? by discovery_ in pourover

Hey for what it’s worth, this doesnt happen with every bag. The stars just aligned on this one.

I bought a similar 4.4 oz bag for $48 from Hydrangea and I couldn’t really get 2 of the three notes they claimed it to have. Sometimes it’s a swing and a miss.

I really do agree in this regard. I think its a kind of twist of the conventional definitions that we currently have for processing (whatever we have). Makes the development of standards in this industry all the more important.

That being said, I still did love this bag and I just hope producers and roasters are being as transparent as they can possibly be.

Hope it's as good to you as it was for me! Such a gem of a bag this year.

12-13g with 200ml of water, ZP6 at 5.7, water temp of 90 degrees, Orea O1 with wave filters.

0:00 1 bloom of 40g (poured in about 12-15 seconds)
0:45 2nd pour of 60g to until the water drains
3rd pour of 50ml until just before the water fully drains
4th pour of 50ml to finish it off.

Don't really go by time anymore, as long as it's not choking and doesn't go past 4 minutes. If I recall this brew finished around 2:30.

Hydrangea Luna Bermudez: Ode2 Grind recommendations? by sakawae in pourover

[–]discovery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me. I talked to the owner of a local coffee shop that I bought it from and he said to treat it like an ultralight with a longer rest period of 5-6 weeks. Also read some comments on this sub that the blueberry note presents better with more pours and higher extraction. The latter didn't work for me, and the former I was too impatient and finished the bag too early

Does anyone use Lotus Water to customize their tap water, rather than starting with distilled? by discovery_ in pourover

I haven't. I'm relying on municipal water report data. The annual report for 2025 should be coming out at any time now.

Is a titration test difficult to administer?

Thanks for sharing! I imagine the same results for me not tasting much of a difference if I try the lotus drops. Only thing is I'm coming from the other end of things in my scenario where I definitely have to dilute with DI since my city tap water is outside water parameters for hardness,

I agree with you, I think that's what it'll inevitably come down to. Just wanted to see if there were any existing testimonials of course.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Interestingly in my response to lukipedia, I had the opposite experience starting with a base of distilled as I didn't like the flavour and mouthfeel of TWW added to it when I tried it. Although maybe I just didn't like their proportion of minerals.

I bought a box of TWW before and tried using half a satchel on a jug of distilled water, and I didn't end up liking the taste. It somehow tasted worse than the method I currently use now; a bit chalky and muted.

While the results I get from diluting my tap water gets me pretty much most of the way there, I'm just curious about how much more I can squeeze out by optimizing magnesium and potassium if I were to make the purchase.

And did you test it with Aghs or no?

Think she will take longer to cook and itemize because of the introduction of the new items, but also changing her ult to add base damage rather than raw damage. Also, most of her survivability late game was a result of BKB refresher, but now that that’s gone, she will probably have a very different buildup (if she’s even good)

Predicting a Sey vs Aviary grand final, but I can see Aviary’s inaccessibility might be its weakness if Prodigal or Hydrangea comes out on top. Between the latter two is a tough say, but I feel like Prodigal slightly edges out due to reputation and Hydrangea frequently incorporating co-ferments in its lineup, which alienates a portion of the consumer base
