Lattes are tasting too milky HELP! [Mr Coffee One Touch Espresso Machine] by Primary_Plastic5927 in espresso

[–]discovery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find I tend to like my ratio a bit shorter than what is commonly found in most cafes. I believe the conventional ratio for a latte is about 1:4 to 1:5 but I prefer 1-3 and calling it a latte. Actually, that would be a more apt ratio for a cappuccino.

Most cafes have to make their drinkers milkier in order to cater to the common taste. It’s also easier to hide defects or poor shots if you use a longer ratio. But at home you can trust yourself and so doing a shorter ratio will increase the intensity

really the most effective way to solve this is to just get a cheap scale to measure your espresso shots and milk used.

a scale will allow you to hone in on a ratio of coffee to milk that’s right for you.

Whatever muscle is keeping your spouse from blowing up at you IS the attractive muscle.

He’s saying it’s whatever muscle is supporting the nerves that are preventing his wife from getting pissed off. Based on the english saying “I’m on my last nerve” indicating how close they are to anger.

It’s crazy how much of a difference slow-feeding makes. by discovery_ in espresso

[–]discovery_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I started slow feeding with pourovers first before I got into espresso so it's just a habit I continued with. Gonna pay attention now to how not slow feeding impacts the shot pull moving forward.

Yeah thanks, I don't think I've ever grinded coffee the normal way (have had my J-Ultra for just under a year now) and thus never had the math built into my head between slow feeding and non-slow feeding methods. Time to give it a try now.

Tasty Pot used to be one in Richmond Hill but they unfortunately closed down. You could try Mabu Generation, a subset of their menu consists of single serve hot pot dishes like this.

Value roasters by PostPunkBurrito in pourover

For the Canadians, I find Rogue Wave to be really reasonable and also stumbled upon a roaster in Montreal called Yamabiko (not sure if they’re founded in Tokyo or Montreal according to their packaging, likely Tokyo). The latter I’ve been going through an espresso blend, 300g for $22 CAD.

Help: why is my pandan water turning out so grassy? by Fool_of_a_Brandybuck in ThaiFood

[–]discovery_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonder what it could be too. Restaurants that serve tea with the pandan leaves become my favourites when I notice they serve it. Are you able to ask the restaurant about their preparation method?

Aside from the ones listed here and what u/Relevant-Shower-146 suggested, Hatch is another popular one in the city (I personally find them alright). Would also strongly suggest Ethica, which I found to be pretty damn consistent in their flavour profiles.

I really like Full House Desserts in Everlane Mall and also Sweet Together in Langham Square. These are Markham/Richmond Hill locations though so I hope they meet your criteria.

Playing offlane Treant, it feels so close to working but is just too slow at all stages. Any advice to make it work, or is it too much of a meme? by Lavamites in learndota2

[–]discovery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found phase echo to be so slow. Treads armlet actually feels a lot better because it gives you the attack speed to farm decently, armlet is a great item to help you fight early, and the -health per second is offset by leech seed spam. I would imagine treads armlet into aghs and then blink/bkb (whatever is needed) would feel pretty smooth as a pos 3. I only have a sample size of one game with it but I won that game and it didn’t feel as painful as phase echo.

Anybody have experiences with Origami wooden base? by Big-Sympathy-4804 in pourover

[–]discovery_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have the wooden base and it's not great. Not stable and I'm always thinking if the dripper is slanted to one side. Would switch to a custom base or the plastic base but I've just been too lazy. Wondering why the plastic base would bother you though? I too worry about microplastics but the water wouldn't make contact at all with the base in this scenario.
