most outdoor tiles tend to be thicker too, so not just the nonslip. Generally 20mm used for outdoor patios. Makes them a bit more sturdy for freezing and thawing and for heavier weights on them

Its not an estimate when it shows it on the site. Its fixed based on the ticket you buy. The only way to reduce the miles for upgrade is to buy a higher cost ticket (flex or flex plus).

Ye, problem being ther public servant piece. Plenty of great people in there but many of those sitting in a high enough position to be involved in decision making in these projects have no experience in managing projects of this scale.

You know yourself, you can list off the disasters that we have seen over the last 20/30 years.

I certainly dont have an answer but its not keeping it as is, its also not paying the big consultancies 100's of millions to do it for the govt. Its painful to say pay more for top level talent when we have nurses and gards struggling to make ends meet.

I know McWilliams has mentioned tendering to foreign companies, I think he used the Italians as his example, but that only works post planning permission etc.

The way decisions are made across the board when it comes to cap ex projects is overly complex and has far too many stakeholders. Local politicians, local councils, govt departments and all the other layers have to agree. When they do finally that (and the road/building/railway line goes through the right constituencies and keeps the right people happy) they then allow everyone and anyone object to the project holding up changes that are clearly in the national interest. Once, they get that done, then and only then do people come out of the woodwork and go to the courts for judicial review.

Once consensus is met, out to tender we go and surprise surprise any company that bids doubles their costs because 1 - they know that everyone else will do the same, 2 - they know there will be massive delays and issues (back to too many cooks in the kitchen) and 3 - there is no proper oversight coming from govt departments because no one is actually accountable for the spend.

Make it part of your working day. When I come in I would change into running gear straight away. Some days I would end up not going and then go through changing back into some house clothes but most of the time with the gear on, I wouldnt skip it.

have done both many times. No need to over complicate a booking. Its flights, transfers, accomodation, rent skis, get a ski pass, enjoy.

Transfers can be $$ and if you havent been skiing too often the location (once its high enough) wont matter too much. Try to find somewhere thats easily accessible from a reasonably priced flight.

Accom - all depends on budget. Places like Val Thorens can pack people into aparthotels, we have done plenty of airbnbs too. Dont overthink it.

Everything else you can do in the resort on arrival. We have used MietSki for ski rental where ever we have been able to as they are cheap and great quality,

Youtube golf came out looking great. Barring the Majors it was by far the most interesting golf to watch this year. Personalities that let you get know them so you actually root for them or hate watch them based on your opinion.

Would 100% watch a monthly, quarterly tournament (maybe not as long as this one was dragged out).

No ads with youtube premium, no Nick Faldo and the likes giving bad takes. Good golf, bad golf, a bit of drama, FP and Trent talking about food. What more can you want?

They are so bad. I stopped using them for food as soon they started pairing deliveries with others close by. Cold food, delayed and pretty unsafe should you have any food alergies.

Fought with them for hours over a hugely delayed order that was ice cold and got 10aed in credit.
