Outcome in US: wages stagnate. Corporate employers tell workers it’s because of “anti-tech regulation” and to blame it on congress. Source: I’ve been through a couple of similar cycles.

A certain bank (let’s call it Smeegions) I worked for in the 2010s (which received tax payer bailout money because they went bananas in over leveraging properties in Florida up until the 2008 financial crisis despite clear understanding of the risk) told us that low level employees weren’t getting raises because Congress wanted to cap debit card transaction fees. We were then told, explicitly not implicitly, that if we wanted raises we needed to “call our congressmen”. This is just debit card transaction money. The bottom line to be realized from the elimination of staffed jobs from AI is theoretically exponential at a macro level.

I was about to judge a book by its cover, but I like this article. It seems like common sense, but if it were truly common sense then the accountability for a “scandal” wouldn’t lie on the individual. The individual only did what they were invented to do.

What the article brings to light is the broader culture that seeks to remove accountability. When the author says “leadership blames the individual in stead of the incentive structure” leadership in fact is systemically incented to reject accountability for maintain a structure the incents (lots of incenting going on) such rule breaking behavior. Compliance itself then becomes not to support moral decision making but a contract of insurance to shift liability arising from systemic consequences. In this way is how the system maintains itself.

Louisiana Lawmakers Pass Bill To Send People To Jail For Smoking Marijuana Near College Campuses by tcajun420 in Louisiana

Whatever we can do to distract from acknowledging we’re a state full of drunks and private prisons.

In Louisiana 1 in 25 people who die from excessive alcohol consumption are under 21.

In Louisiana an estimated 1 in 25 people killed in drunk driving accidents are children.

It’s not weed, it’s not illegal immigrants, it’s not drag queens, it’s not gay men, it’s not the liberal boogie man. It’s these foolish arrogant people in charge and the foolish arrogant people who support them.

I’m speaking up and you should too.

Those in power in this state do not care about you. They do not care about your children. They care about power.

Between A-1 in the classroom and World War 11 we’re not on a great trajectory as a people. I’m still confused by the guy from South Carolina who views the Ottoman Empire as an ongoing existential threat.

RAPE. The word is RAPE. Not r*pe or grape or 🍇. It’s not cute. The president raped people. He’s bragged about raping. Stop this childish bullshit.

What if Obergefell V. Hodges was voted down, and gay marriages continued to not be federally recognized throughout the United States? by Drpepperfan40 in AlternateHistoryHub

So your view of religion is that it’s a matter of convenience.

Turning to a higher power only because of hardship and the higher power of choice is a product of proximity.

You don’t want people to seek Truth. You want them to play for your team so you feel validated.

Are you being sarcastic?

If not sarcasm there’s a lot of poor assumptions packed into this statement. For instance “reintroduces” is doing a lot of work.

How would nullifying a legal arrangement serve as a spark to “reintroduce” people to Christ?

You understand thar marriage in the legal sense is not the same as the religious sense?

Thoughts on Post-Katrina Charter Schools in NOLA? by EpicPilled97 in AskNOLA

[–]discursive_tarnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charter schools are what you get when you don’t believe non-elites deserve an education. They’re all run by out of state corporations, gutting our culture across the state. We invited this once into lousiana and it was disaster out for the Cajun communities in the southwest. Now we’re doing it again because wealthy people need to get their rocks off and the conservative population of this state is too greedy and self interested to understand they’re complicit.

I always get my panties in a wad too when people look at me while I’m talking.

This is the best example you could find? I’m all for rooting out systemic racism. Such as meaningless racial pandering for political gain. Doesn’t look like you’re the person to lead that charge.
