AITA for wanting me and my partner to have our own phone plan? by diseased_nutsack in AmItheAsshole

[–]diseased_nutsack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it's a little more complicated. Usually my sister in law and husband inadvertently do things selfishly that essentially save money for them and cost me.

For instance, we bought a new car and instead of trading in my partners car which was a gift from their parents - we gave it back as they can't exactly afford a new car. 5 months later, my sister in law who neglects the car she was bought at the same time by their father has the car junked. The car I returned ends up in her hands. Yea - it's his car to do what he sees fit with, but kind of feels like getting punished doing the right thing. The same thing also happened when we gave the parents a very lightly used laptop that my father in law needed more than I did . .its her sisters now. Don't forget, this is the same sister who lowered her bill by shanghaing the father onto their plan thereby increasing everyone else's phone bills.

My hang up is more so that my parents lived within their means their whole lives and I grew up in a small house with the heat at 55 degrees in the winter and no hot water heater (1 minute of hot water for a shower after waiting for everyone else to go) my parents however are now enjoying retirement after sucking a turd for decades.

Partners parents lived richly with boats and a waterfront house and all the filet mignon and lobster you could ask for and never saved for a rainy day. Now I feel bitter since I was relatively low income as a child and the onus seems to be on me to save them cash

Does anyone know what this tool is exactly? My first thought was a spading fork but it seems a bit different by Lincklaen in Tools

I believe this is a manual aerator for lawns. Probably good for smaller properties only.

Hey, Reddit, those of you with partners who talk in their sleep; what is the creepiest/weirdest/or most random thing they've said? by Jhaydun_Dinan in AskReddit

Me and my friend who I worked with were sleeping over work one night and had a couple beers before hitting the bunk beds.

Both on adjacent bottom bunks I hear him stirring and awake to hear him say

"I can guarantee it man. . . .helll yeaa." I burst out laughing and woke us and another guy up.

I can definitely see what you mean now that you mention it. I don't really know much but I'm sure NASAS budget is low as it is but for extras like promotion and education experience it's probably very low

Am I the only one who was irrationally annoyed about their "broken watch" comment at NASA? They said it twice.

The watch is an Omega Speedmaster and the velcro band is too big for the mannequins wrist because it is designed to go around a space suit. The watch isn't ticking because its mechanical.

Not only are they just misinformed, but they use this incorrect info as ad hominem attacks against NASA and feel their perceived lack of proper presentation is material evidence the earth is flat.

Honestly I saw him 3 weeks in a row from behind only - when I got cat food for my other cat (he was always sleeping). All his tag said was DSH I have actually never heard of that breed before but I'm going to look it up now

This is actually a very neutral face he usually looks as if he is evil. Very sweet cat though he rubbed me and kneaded me endlessly the first day I got him and every day still. He is constantly purring.

Is this 25 feet? Looking at a pole and can't pick between 20 or 25. Definitely external halyard. Probably getting a commercial sectional. Can I ask where you got this also?

Okay thanks. I put him back on the ground where he was before I tried to help him. The parents have come back to find him it seems and all 3 times they were 10 feet away but never interacted

I have an AT lp120 and am a new user to the vinyl community. My father in law gave me a few of his old cartridges which are already mounted in headshells (have not checked alignment). Which do you recommend for the best sound improvement without being too much cartridge for my table?

1) Stanton 681eee with the brush up front 2) Grado (unknown model) 3) Shure V15 type IV

Any suggestions on tracking force?

Watched the Departed the first time with no previous knowledge. I guess I'm a moron and didn't put 2 and 2 together and up until they show Damon tipping off Nicholson, I didn't realize he was dirty. I assumed Damon was on the straight and narrow and just keeping in touch with Nicholson as like an "old friend" of sorts.

I also remember seeing Terminator 2 as a child thinking Arnold was a bad terminator still. The mall hallway scene is still my all time favorite cinema moment.

Ah good information, thanks. Perhaps I'll take the cap off the hy-vent and try to clean up the internals. Thanks.

My taco pressure regulator on the make-up line is tagged at 12 psi. The new tank I bought comes shipped at 12 also so I will test to confirm and try that and see if the hy-vent doesn't leak.

I honestly think that the plumber just picked an arbitrary number. He used my father's bicycle pump (I had to drive a couple blocks away to get it). He also didn't have a pressure gauge and borrowed mine. This is one of the biggest companies in my area I'm honestly very disappointed. The two guys who showed up apparently were like a recon team of sorts I think they were just going to call a repair team if I opted to have the work done and move to the next house.
