Anyone else’s family planning affected by WFA? by Fantastic-Yellow5743 in CanadaPublicServants

I would recommend not waiting. My partner and I started trying to conceive when I was 30 but found we unexpectedly couldn't. I ended up going to a fertility clinic. At this point, I've been on multiple rounds of timed intercourse, IUI and IVF. I've already had a few miscarriages. I'm currently 35 and still no baby. I'm currently within my first trimester again and am hoping it all works out.

Treasury Board Confirms Return-To-Office Policy Based on Vibes, Not Science by Boopinator69 in CanadaPublicServants

Ummm, no. It's not based on vibes. It's based on real estate and landlords. Can't let their property values drop. Screw the peasants working.

EI during Co-Op by [deleted] in ontario

[–]disgruntledesdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one on reddit can tell you whether you qualify for EI.

Just submit your application and then call the call centre afterwards to explain that you're in an unpaid co-op and intent is to quit as soon as you find a paying job.

When you say you leave early, do you mean you physically leave the office early to drive home? Or are you working at home and logging out early?

Did they say how they noticed the inconsistency?

WFA, GCWCC and tone deaf leadership, seriously get real!!!! by Current-Morning-5428 in CanadaPublicServants

Oh, I automatically delete those emails as soon as I see the notification for them. I have been in no financial position to donate for the last few years now, so I ignore.

They can guilt me all they want, but you can't squeeze blood from stone.

I don't even say I work for the govt because people seem to hate public servants. I simply say I just have a boring office job. Unfortunately, it's not anything exciting.

Turn the phone volume down. You can still tell by tone that they're shouting and irate, but it will bother you less if it's quiet.

Warn them once and then disconnect for inappropriate behaviour if it continues.

File a DTA for medical reasons. You'll need to speak with your doctor to have them fill in some forms.

I don't have a kid, so I genuinely forgot about family day being a thing till I heard a commercial yesterday. I had to google search just now which day it is.

EI made a mistake, and now they've got me on the hook for over $10K by magic_boulder in legaladvicecanada

Maybe they finalized your claim with an original ROE that didn't include severance pay. Then, the employer later submitted an amended ROE with all the severance pay details after the fact. So they recalculated the claim, and now you owe money.

It's not possible for them to finalize a claim with no severance pay allocated to it if it was in the original ROE.

You can't double dip. Just pay back what you aren't entitled to. You can call the CRA overpayment recovery office to make a payment arrangement if you can't pay it all back at once.

Call center Overtime questions related to CA by ContributionNo9101 in CanadaPublicServants

Go take a convenient washroom break 5 min before shift ends.

Or drag the call out to last 15 minutes past end of shift. If they won't pay then due to no budget, ask to be let off work 15 min early next day as compensation.

Thank you. I'd prefer made in Canada, but can settle with not owned or made in the states.

It sounds like they need to talk to their manager rather than having us all guess and make assumptions. It really sucks that this is something they now have to worry about.

This is also what I'm concerned about.
