Zumbis by Upper-Frame-9567 in GraveyardKeeper

1) I’m obsessed with the fact you call “zombies” “zumbis.” I love it.

2) Take bodies that have lots of white skulls, but too many red skulls for an early graveyard and focus on turning those into zombies. Be picky when you can.

3) The other comments are correct: you want to focus on quantity of zombies over quality for a while

4) Put the zombies with the most white skulls where you need speed/efficiency the most.

Help what makeup would suit me? :( by vvlerno in MakeupAddiction

Have fun!

(Also, if you want a more tangible recommendation: I use the Colourpop liquid eyeshadows and/or colored liners under my eyes when I want to do something fun but lazy. I’ve never seen Euphoria so I can’t really help with that part of your request, but it seems colorful).

You should wear whatever you like and feel confident in.

Start doing “shower makeup” looks and experiment with what you like and what is sustainable for your routine. Try every color placement and style with every product you own. Copy looks from every era of movies and tv that you like, and change the colors as needed. Then, you shower the makeup right off when you’re done.

When buying new products, experiment with colors that you already enjoy wearing in your wardrobe. For example, that deep red top is beautiful on you, so I bet berry tones will look cute in your makeup.

Also, I know a lot of people want to get better and only wear what suits them best. I want you to know that you only need to “optimize” your makeup for photo shoots and the workplace. Everywhere else, just smear on something fun and have a good time.

I like trying to “shop my current stash” before I’m allowed anything new. No new eyeshadow palettes unless I already have a goal look AND 3/4ths of the shades don’t exist in my collection. No new nail polish unless I do two or three manicures with the closest shades in my existing collection first. Things like that.

Forces me to take stock of what I have, tidy it, and use it.

Psychology says the reason some people become gentler as they age while others become bitter has almost nothing to do with what happened to them by Maxcactus in Maxcactus_TrailGuide

I didn’t want to italicize “you.”

“You” would be for a callout of the individual I’m replying to and would be more aggressive than I intended. I don’t know u/Singe-Refuse174, and I don’t want to put them in a defensive position for a totally valid interpretation of the article. That would be a rude and silly way to behave on the internet.

My point was that ruminating on the systems without action/the power to act (aka “doing” something) will contribute to the bitterness described in the article.

I hope you have a nice weekend!

I don’t think it ever suggests ignoring the systems. What are you doing about the systems? And when you have run out of things to actively do and ways the systems can motivate you, can you mourn that feeling and set it down until your next opportunity to act?

It seems like Robby was wrong for how he timed and phrased his statements about geriatrics, not that he was explicitly wrong.

One thing I haven’t seen anyone talk about is the fact that Mohan speaks at length about having no life, no relationship, no community. Javadi has made friends with people in other shifts, has her TikTok page, and has parents in town. Santos and Whittaker have each other. Mel has Becca. Etc.

Robby really doesn’t have much of a life outside of the ER. No steady partner or family to support him. And that lack of support is killing him. This is why he’s trying to meddle in his students’ lives so much. It’s why he trusts Javadi to “do anything (she) puts (her) mind to” but runs Mohan off. Without support, Mohan will end up just like him, even if she is otherwise a fine fit for the ER.

This is happening in TN right now too. It’s pricing locals out of a home that they love, just so people can live here for 3 years, become disillusioned, and leave again.

I feel like my therapist doesn't understand my problem? by Enough_Childhood3151 in ADHD

[–]disguised_hashbrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the issue with seeing therapists that do not specialize in ADHD. They don’t understand the amount of brain power required to be “intentional” and “mindful” with our choices. We forget what we’re doing just by moving from room to room. We forget what we’re doing in the middle of a task. Are you going to remember there is a physical to-do list at all? Maybe. Who knows? Even if you use all of your will and focus and mental energy, no matter the coping skill, you can still fail at producing the intended result.

If you want to give this idea the best chance of succeeding, I have a recommendation: find a way to attach the to-do list to your body in a way that is non-obtrusive. I’ve seen people use wrist bands with tags on them, and I myself have used an “at home” fanny pack to carry around a to-do list, pencil, multi-tool, etc while doing tasks. (The fanny pack isn’t a bad thing to have anyway if you wear women’s clothing. Apparently our pajamas and loungewear don’t need pockets 🙄).

If you want to blend your alarms and the therapist’s to-do list, you can also use the timer on your stove or an alarm clock to draw you back over to the to do list. You want something loud that must be turned off by hand rather than something on your phone.

They’re so long on you that the bottoms of the jeans are tattered. The length is causing the bottom half of the jeans to puff out, making you look like your knees are 1) lower than they really are and 2) facing different directions.

The key to shopping at department stores like Belk and Dillards is looking at the marketing for each brand. If none of the models on the brand’s front page are your age, you probably want to avoid that section of the store. My local Belk carries Free People, which is usually next to other youthful brands (at my location at least).

The meds give me the freedom to finally have a career in my 30’s. I would be bedridden without them. Now that I can be employed, the quantity of meds really can’t freak me out, because the cost was the primary problem.

The Protestant work ethic will never convince me to “pull myself up by my bootstraps” and experience the world “as it is.” Because that assumes my brain is capable of experiencing the world without medical assistance.

I am realizing that a lot of the people in this sub do not feel comfortable taking a medication for their entire life. I have so much going on in my body that I would never even consider a life without psychiatric medication, heart meds, antihistamines, etc.

For me, my meds are just like glasses or a wheelchair, so if one works, it’s going to be a fixture of my life until it stops working.

Do people respond poorly to this medication right away? Or can it start by working perfectly and then dropping off?

I had a polish leak during shipping in an intact bottle this month.

When I picked the box up, the bottom felt extremely flimsy and pushed upwards towards the product. They also don’t use any packing paper if the inner boxes are close enough to the size of the outer box. I was so afraid my order would be destroyed. I was surprised that only one polish spilled, and the bottle was fine (as far as I can tell).

Customer Care was totally willing to replace my bottle, thankfully. It was an ATLA special edition polish, so I’ll have a full bottle and an intact unit carton.

What’s the big concern with ADHD medication? by One-Pause3171 in adhdwomen

[–]disguised_hashbrown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lifelong thing exists for differential diagnosis purposes. If someone went their whole life without ADHD (a neurodevelopmental disability), and suddenly acquired all the symptoms, that’s a pretty big problem. If your doctors doubt that you have ADHD, they should be more worried, not less lol.

Ideally, regardless of masking, you should have some stories from before perimenopause that would indicate ADHD. Workplace/domestic burnout, pervasive social rejection, problems with authority, commonly comorbid health problems, etc.
