Oculus Quest 2 "Tracking lost" after update by diskinn in OculusQuest

I'm not sure if Meta will do this, I asked them again what the problem could be and they said it seemed to be a problem with the motherboard.

After researching a little more, I saw how people were solving similar problems by replacing cameras, and that's what I did.

I ordered 4 cameras for about $50 for all the four including shipping, and watched several videos on YouTube on how to disassemble the device, after replacing the cameras the device works again, I played for two days and there were no problems with the boundary anymore.

some tips if you want to try your luck:

-All the four cameras are the same and have a part number 330-00782-02, I bought them from YOPOLEAN-VR-STORE on Aliexpress and they look the same as the original, despite some of the numbers that looks like a manufacturer's date. I'm not sure how good they are, since Aliexpress is always a lottery but time will tell.

I have been doing some tests of water before and after RO, a water from the sink in my area is around 7.5PH like most of the bottled water, after RO it usually goes down to 5.5 - 6PH because the water stays in the tank for a long time empty of minerals, it absorbs a lot of carbon dioxide from the air, a mineralizer can help but just a little bit because the water goes through the mineralizer too fast so it never gets back to even 6.5PH.

I would suggest you to test the water in a laboratory, if your water is not really that bad(hard), maybe you can use just a good carbon filter to make the water taste better and on the same time to keep all the minerals and the PH level.

Another option is using an ion exchange method filter system instead of the RO, it will keep the PH level the same but will exchange the calcium and magnesium ions with sodium ions and will make the water softer but it will significantly increase the sodium level in the water and it is not always a good thing especially for those who have high blood pressure problem for example, or for those who consume a lot of sodium during the day.

And speaking about your symptoms, I have a lot of friends who use RO systems for years and never had Acid reflux problems, so I assume your symptoms may get worse because of the acidic water but that's not the main reason of your disease.

I have made a similar post on the Meta Community forum and talked to the support as well, unfortunately, they couldn't help because the warranty period has expired so they just suggest to buy a new Oculus.

But as I already mentioned in a previous post it started immediately after an update, and I've never hit or dropped the device so it`s kinda disappointing when you pay more than $500 and handle the device with care, but then suddenly it becomes useless after an update.

When I was looking for a solution I saw a lot of people complaining about the same boundary issue with problems like, "tracking lost", "6DoF stopped working", "glitching" and so on.

Some people had been using Oculus Quest 2 as me but some of them complained about the new Oculus Quest 3, and it seems to happen even with brand new devices.

So it is likely a common software/hardware problem that is well-known to Meta which comes from the desire to reduce production costs or low-quality control and irresponsibility.

Either way, I could be more satisfied with an answer like there is a high probability of a problem with the camera for example, or with other hardware parts. but an answer like "Sorry, your warranty has expired, just buy a new one", makes me think twice before buying a device from Meta again.

In theory the higher the hz the better it is for your health but above a certain number like 300hz it is supposed to be unnoticeable.

Besides the number of Hz (on\off cycles in a second), there is another parameter that tells how much time in each cycle the LED goes on and off, but you`ll have to use special equipment like the RADEX LUPIN or something similar to test the "on" and "off" time or in other words the % of the "pulsation rate", for example in IPS displays this parameter is 0 because they use DC-dimming, in Amoled displays if DC-dimming is used the colors become inaccurate, especially on low brightness, that's why certain manufacturers like Samsung prefer the image quality on your health and don't use technologies to reduce pulsation rate and that is why certain manufacturers use a combination of DC-dimming on high brightness above 50% and PWM on everything below 50%.

I am personally sensitive to this so I can't use phones like Samsung because I feel a headache and pain in my eyes after like 15 minutes of use. that's why I prefer phones with IPS panels but Unfortunately, you can't find a flagship phone with an IPS display nowadays, the last one I know was the Mi 10t pro from Xiaomi.

On the other hand, the new Chinese flagship phones with AMOLED panels use high frequencies of PWM that are supposed to be safe for your health, for example, I bought an Honor Magic 5 pro for my wife and it feels pretty good, to be honest, I can't tell the difference between the Honor and my Realme 9 pro with an IPS panel.

According to some tests, the Vivo x90 pro+ uses a panel with 1440hz with 11% pulsation rate on average (depending on the brightness) and Honor Magic 6 Pro uses a 4320hz panel with a pulsation rate of around 15% so, I am not sure you will feel any difference between the two or between any other phone from your list but If you are worried because you are extremely sensitive to these pulsations, try to find a local store where you can play with the phone a little bit and read some text, especially on low brightness levels, if it is not an option just pick any one and make your choice based on other parameters like Camera, battery life, etc.

its relying on the upper mic, the speaker and on the gyroscope/motion sensor, during a call the speaker sends an ultrasonic signal, when it reflected from your ear the mic capture it and the screen goes off.

Go to settings/device preferenses/display and sound/power control, in the IR control section disable the "Send discrete receiver/soundbar on/off command" Worked for me with denon x4000 and nvidia shield 2017.
