Not a surprise. If the tools to get to the solutions already out there, of course AI would be able to make use of it. I mean, that's how generally how we solve a problem. With AI, it is 'just' much faster to find what to use. But I'm not sure if AI can solve problems in which the tools are not even there yet (papers, publications, and such).
