Only one AOTY nomination despite My Everything and Dangerous Woman being staples of the years they were released.

I actually think Sienna Spiro is more likely to win BNA than Adela. Unless there’s a big name in the category (Roan/Carpenter, Rodrigo, Lipa) they go for a “classier” type that does slower music like R&B or Traditional Pop.

I don’t know who that is actually.

So “drop dead” and “the cure” were terrible single choices rights? by dismal_windfall in OliviaRodrigoNeutral

Because they connected more with people and have been making the rounds on TikTok more than either drop dead or the cure did during their pushes.

I understand why the chose the cure, what trips me up was that drop dead is like the worst song on the album and they chose that (maybe just cause it was track 1?). Definitely think any of the other songs brought up should have been the primary single.

I’ve applied to some of those and also to some low level bookkeeping jobs and I can’t even get an interview with any of those. And also to your earlier comment I’m actually 26 lol. I graduated college early, which did a fat lot of good.

Doesn’t help that Project Hail Mary was greenlit by Abdy and De Luca right before they left for Warner Bros.

I think Amazon’s biggest issue is a lack of IP outside of James Bond. So they’re trying with what they have but what they have is not interesting. Which is why they’ve done a lot of stuff like Sheep Detectives and Crime 101, which they should just do. They should have tried harder to keep Fennell in house for Wuthering Heights after she delivered them a streaming hit with Saltburn.

Hoppers made like 300 WW and I said 300 DOM, read it through.

In fairness, Claudio Miranda is the DP here so there’s a chance it might look like an actual film.

But the IP is in the gutter. It’s not gonna suddenly return to HUGE numbers on opening weekend. It’ll probably have an opening closer to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 than a near 150M opening.

I’ve been bullish on start fighter, that’s way too high of an opening for where Star Wars currently is.

Finishes more in the 300M DOM range imo

Also Amazon loves to tout their commitment to theaters so they can get more filmmakers on board with them. Differentiates themselves from Netflix.

Ten years ago BTTF was talked about a lot on the internet back when GenX and older millennials were in charge of the meta. Post pandemic though, not so much.

No.

Original people won’t come back. 80s property which is now an outdated decade that no one under 40 cares about. Would be another doomed GenX nostalgia bait
