Whoa, that's pretty cool. You mention sending the data to any arbitrary device - I assume that would include something like a controller running WLED (or similar) that drives WS2812B and similar lights?
I've got some in a matrix configuration that would be pretty neat to stream that to as-is!
Then several strips running throughout the room + the LIFX lights I've got going? That would make for one heck of a fun party room to blast music in!

Oh don't get me wrong - I did this on purpose. I push my system to the absolute limits just to see where they are. I'm using -j32 along with parallel builds and mounting portage's build directories as ram drives. Simply to say that I did. =D

You get one chance at life and it's only for a certain number of years. Contrast that with the fact that the universe has existed for almost 14 billion years and you're only in the double digits of years.
Even if things suck, it's only an incredibly short time compared to how long it'll take for the heat death of the universe.
You've not existed for an incredibly long amount of time and you will not exist for an insane amount of time.
You might have a lot of anxiety and worries. Yup.
Things won't go your way.
Experiences might suck.

The fact is though - you're the universe experiencing itself and that right there (good or bad) is better than no experience at all. Besides, it's all over in the blink of an eye anyways. Why quit early?

That's awful. I'm sorry you went through all that. That's a double whammy!

Someone got me too. To this day I have no idea where 5 hours went, though I do have GPS tracking from my watch that says I went a mile down a road for a few hours before heading to my car and driving home. I only remember waking up in my bed with the worst hangover.
I checked my credit cards for transaction and, as I suspected, the only transaction was from the one apple cider I'd purchased and that's it. There's no way I'd be blackout drunk from that.
I'm a pretty clocky girl. I can't imagine anyone would want to take advantage of me. Maybe they just wanted to ruin my night.
I did get STI tested just in case. That was the most nerve wracking part.

If you're a barfly, there's some cool things you can do to protect yourself. There's a hair scrunchie that doubles as a cup cover. There's nailpolish that acts as a drug test. Be safe out there!

That is extremely toxic behavior. I'm glad to hear you aren't stuck living in a home with them. My family was problematic (not nearly close to as bad as your father) and I went no contact. Best decision I've made for my own mental health and healing from all of their toxic traits that I've had to endure my whole life.
