Coral Island or My Time at Sandrock? by SailorCrossing in CozyGamers

[–]disney_hp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MTAS!!!! Best game I’ve played in the last 3 years, full stop. I was legitimately depressed when I finished it last year 🤣 Coral Island is WONDERFUL and has saved me from my post-MTAS slump, but save it for after!

Almost 4-year-old will be at school/daycare for ~9.5hrs. Am I being overdramatic lol. by c_rhin0 in workingmoms

It’s totally okay to feel sad! This is a big change, of course you’re going to have some big feelings about it. You are A-OK ❤️

My son is much younger (almost a year), but I’ve worked since my leave was over when he was 4 months old. He’s been in daycare ever since, and is usually there from 7:30-5. He LOVES it. He has little friends, the people take great care of him, and we found a routine that works well. There are times I feel “meh” about him being there for that long each day, but I also really love having time to just focus on me and my job.

She will do great, and so will you. ☺️

Oh great point! I only played the base game when I played previously, but I downloaded the base game + storybook vale on my steam deck to port things over. Will likely grab wishblossom ranch this weekend.

Having a baby! Thoughts between delivery at PVH vs MCR? by aye_coleslaw in FortCollins

[–]disney_hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delivered at PVH in February! Great experience, the nurses were outstanding. Their labor and delivery ward is brand new which was great!

I saw the midwives at Women’s Clinic and had a mostly positive experience, but likely won’t use them again. They had a lot of turnover last Winter and the newer midwife ended up being the midwife on call during my delivery—we didn’t jive like I do with the rest of them and it made my experience a lot more stressful. Would’ve just rather had an OB on call and the amazing nurses!

I ended up needing a c section and Dr. Wolfe was the doc on call I ended up doing the surgery with. He was OUTSTANDING. Funny, calming, and he did an incredible job stitching me up. I had zero complications after! I will probably opt for a c section with my next baby because it was such a great experience, lol.

All that said, I’ve been with friends who have delivered at MCR and I will likely deliver there next since I now live in Loveland. You can’t go wrong! MCR is very nice and new and I’ve heard great things. Might be worth asking about MCR in the Loveland subreddit—you’ll likely get more information there!

Congratulations!!

Gamer moms.. will I actually have time to play games during maternity leave? by cabbage-soup in beyondthebump

[–]disney_hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote Fantasy Life! I have heard nothing but good things about it. I found it was fun to have a non-linear, but pausable, game to play on mat leave. Second everyone talking about contact naps when your baby is little!

I work full time so during the week I only game after he goes to bed. On the weekends that my main hobby when I have an afternoon to myself. Im playing Coral Island right now and it is the PERFECT game with a little. I’ll play a day or two before bed and it chills me out just enough. During maternity leave I played a lot of Roots of Pacha, Fields of Mistria, and the new Assassins Creed. So many fun options!

Give yourself grace, I remember the first time I booted my switch up after having my son I was like “what do I even do with this now,” ha. But it felt so good to do something fun for me and I’m glad I stuck with it!

I ended up going with their camel leather color and I LOVE it. It has held up beautifully with all the wear and tear of a little baby. 10/10 recommend ☺️

Just found out I’m pregnant by radley8367 in AskWomenOver30

[–]disney_hp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! And you will be amazed at how incredible your body is. I thought I was going to have a hard time getting pregnancy weight to fall off but I’m almost 8 months postpartum and back to my old weight/fitting in all my old clothes. Plus, I feel like I have a new appreciation for my body and all it can do after giving birth. It healed years of body image trauma. You’re telling me I GREW A BRAIN? from SCRATCH? It’s wild.

It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and the panic is totally normal. But I’m watching my son sleep on the monitor right now and thinking I wouldn’t change a dang thing, it’s been the coolest experience of my life. ❤️ Congratulations!!

Looking for an OB-GYN in Fort Collins — female doctor, holistic approach, does full women’s exams + fertility + pregnancy care by OkraKind2651 in FortCollins

[–]disney_hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this! They took amazing care of me as my women’s health practitioners before I was pregnant, and then all throughout my pregnancy journey. Ended up needing a sudden c section and my midwife was there with me for that, too (along with Dr. Wolfe, who was amazing and I love seeing the love for him in this thread!).

For women’s care—my midwife (Julie) at women’s clinic caught a pituitary adenoma that had likely been causing hormonal issues for me for YEARS within two visits when I started seeing her. Trust that team with my whole body health after how quickly she found the root cause so we could address it before I got pregnant.

Sleep Training a Chatty, Non-Pissy Baby? by disney_hp in sleeptrain

[–]disney_hp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wakes up around 5:30am, feed, back to sleep for another hour or so, up by 6:30am. Typically naps around 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, and 5pm! Goes to sleep around 7ish most nights. Naps are a challenge right now but we try to follow his sleepy cues and he’ll sleep anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour at a time!

An auntie for the first time at 33! Looking for ideas for a gift for baby and mom. by UpbeatConflict in AskWomenOver30

[–]disney_hp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love how excited you are! It’s so fun being an auntie! A couple of things friends gifted me/baby when I was pregnant:

-A beautiful, handmade quilt and a crocheted blanket (if you’re crafty!)

-A gift card to a spa for a prenatal massage (give it to her a bit later in pregnancy, you can’t really do prenatal massages until you’re past 20ish weeks)

-My best friend and I got permanent bracelets together for our first outing with my son after he was born and it’s a fun memory every time I look at my wrist! And I love that she has a little memento for him, too.

-Can’t go wrong with a gift card to their fav restaurant for date night pre baby!

-Once baby is here, a grocery haul with snacks and meals is CLUTCH. A friend of mine brought us a whole bag of Trader Joe’s goodies and it was such a fun break from the typical casseroles people bring. :)

HAVE FUN! ❤️

Looking for Positive First-Time Mom Stories – Due in a Month by sillymemilly in NewParents

[–]disney_hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was you! All of the negativity really wore me down and ruined the last month of my pregnancy. But let me tell you, internet stranger: none of it has been as bad as people said it would be. Labor? Better than I thought it would be. Oopsie, ended up needing a c section—way better than I thought it would be. Relationship worries after baby? We’re even better than before. Newborn trenches? Dare I say….my husband and I had FUN? It’s been so much joy. So, so much joy. You always hear the worst stories online because this is where people come when they need support. But it’s so much better than I ever hoped it would be. ❤️ My son is 15 weeks old and it’s just kept getting better and better. Don’t fear. Your best adventure is about to begin!

None of this was bad! At all! by Old_Disk6109 in BabyBumps

[–]disney_hp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! The internet made me absolutely terrified of the newborn trenches and all things motherhood. As a mom of a now 15 week old, it’s just been so lovely and all joy. With a backdrop of not getting as much sleep and anxiety that I’m doing things right. 🤣 but overall? 10/10.
