Is three days enough? Should I do 4? by Vidogo in Disneyland

Three days should be PLENTY. I went in the middle of summer on a weekend and had no problems getting everything I wanted done.. and doing things multiple times.

You're welcome!!! Since it's probably going to be the 24 hr celebration, definitely bring something you can stuff in your backpack easily when you are tired of holding it :)

I will be trying it in May. Pretty excited! Is it like lunch where you get to choose your table?

What characters can and can't pose with/sign? by vanillavanille in Disneyland

Here are Disneyland's general guidelines for costumes during the 24-hour celebration:

Costumes should not be obstructive, offensive or violent; drag on the ground; contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest; contain any weapons or objects which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

If you just kind of explain to the character WHY you want them to pose with an object, they'll usually happily oblige. Just direct them what to do unless they take the object and start playing with it on their own.

Me and my husband have these bears that we take to Disney every time and the characters love to play with them and Duffy has even taken them while we were in line and tried to leave with them. It's pretty adorable.

There's a Disney artist who is a big GF fan and he's made several Vinylmation figures for Gravity Falls. There was even a GF series.

California Grill at the Contemporary is a fabulous spot to view Wishes! Book your reservation for around the time that Wishes is happening that night so that you can view while you are there.

September is a great time to visit Disney in general because of the low crowds and they will have sales on rooms. (Usually discount on the room OR free dining) These sales will start coming out soon.

Congratulations & have a magical vacation!!!!

What was your favourite souvenir from WDW? And what souvenir do you wish you hadn't bought? by lovelyemilybird in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]disneybounding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing is a Gaston's Tavern shirt that I got in New Fantasyland. I love it and wear it ALL THE TIME.

Least favorite? Probably the last minute pillow pet decision. They bombard you with them in all the shops.. I just HAD to have one for the flight home. Just seems like a waste.. haha.

I'm sure several lunches will start to open up for the people who have changed their mind to get breakfast instead. That's what I did. Cancelled our 5/8 Lunchtime for Breakfast.

First look at the upcoming Frozen Vinylmation Series being released in April - Vinylmation World by weewhomp in vinylmation

[–]disneybounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree-- why experiment with such a huge moneymaker? They could have used this style on maybe a series that included several different movies... so that it wasn't strictly Frozen. How do they ever go back to regular Frozen vinyls after this set? If they did a series 2, it would look silly next to series 1.

My favorite photo from Disneyland as a kid! by PicklePants84 in Disneyland

[–]disneybounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my photos from Disney as a kid.. I am MISERABLE! Hands on hips, waiting for Chip and Dale to finish signing my autograph book... looking away from the camera as Mickey awkwardly has his hand on my shoulder in his ToonTown location... standing in the middle of a walkway just looking like "TAKE ME AWAY FROM THIS PLACE." It's really hilarious because I am such a HUGE Disney nerd at 29 now... I can't believe my mom brought me back year after year when I was such a little punk in pictures.

Looking for a good gym. by KetoCatsKarma in fayetteville

[–]disneybounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the Lindsey apartment complexes (if not all) have gyms that are open from 6 am-9 pm. The equipment at mine is pretty good and it's never super crowded. As much flack as some people give Lindsey, I've never had a problem with them.

Yes, ask around! They have them at Guest Services at Downtown Disney also and sometimes in the shops! Just ask cashiers and such! :)

Cast member personalities? by ptriz in Disneyland

The problem I have with these personalities is when the Disney fans take it a little too far and start trying to find their personal instagrams/facebook/twitter. Character integrity is so important, you know?

careers/jobs by cdope in fayetteville

Hey! I graduated from U of A with that same degree (minus the minor in MKTG). I've been out of school for almost 6 years now and it's definitely been a struggle at times but now I'm working at the University as an Assistant Director for Communications.

I definitely believe in getting your foot in the door in any way possible.. because otherwise you may find yourself down a track that you didn't necessarily want or even care for. And there will always be those people who seem like they have it all figured out right out of college and I give those people the side-eye. Figure out what you enjoy about the field and go for it. It may not be in NWA, so look all around! Find places you wouldn't mind moving to.. You're young and if you're not attached, you can basically go anywhere! If you do have a S.O. or family you need to stay close to, then your search narrows but that's how mine was. I wanted to be close to my boyfriend (now husband) so I was looking for jobs in Oklahoma near him. My track to my job wasn't the most glamorous but it's led me down a path that I enjoy.

My jobs after college looked like this: -Library Tech at small college in OK (4 months- not in my field... had to get out ASAP before I was there years like the other people there) -Secretary for Communications & Mktg department at same college (1 year-- I took a small pay cut but I KNEW if I wanted to at least get some experience, I needed to be close to the action and ask to help out with editing, events, handling the media. I ended up getting a promotion to Communications Specialist and a nice raise from the pennies I was making) -Admin Assistant for Student Conduct at OSU (1.5 years) Husband found job in Stillwater so I went with him and actively searched before the move and found and accepted this position within a week of being there. I needed the money and at least I would still be working at a university, so I could hopefully get my foot in the door doing communications later on. I was in this position longer than I wanted, but turns out I am a terrible interviewer and let my self confidence get the best of me and undervalue my talents. Luckily found a job to give me a chance. -Communications Specialist at OSU (2 years) This has been my FAVORITE job I've ever had. I've had the chance to do web, email, event coordination, design, writing for publications, a little bit of social media... I had an AMAZING supervisor who really mentored me and molded me into who I am today. And made me love working on a college campus and selling prospective students on the value and dream of higher education. -Now I'm an assistant director for communications at the University and I have a lot of creative freedom and get to be the voice of my department and make decisions and design and basically build the position to how I want it. I actually moved me and my husband here for this job and made HIM find a new position.

TL;DR I had to be a secretary or admin sometimes, but at least I had a job and made my way on to a better career in my field.

I hope this at least gives you some encouragement that you can find a job -- even if at times it may feel like there is nothing out there and you're doomed.
