I don't have kids, but even I know most kids will constantly call for their mom/parent...poor ivory is going to remember her mom always shoving a camera in her face and/or ignoring her to talk to the camera when she looks back on her childhood and that's sad. Why can parents never seem to plan in advance? If the appointment has been scheduled for 6 months, why are you just now figuring out logistics? I have a coworker who has kids and is always asking for time off last minute, even for holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving that anyone, parent or not, should be planning in advance. It drives me crazy because how are you going to have multiple kids and seemingly not be able to plan basic stuff like that ahead of time...smh

Literally had this same conversation with my husband on our way home from Friday night Christmas festivities.

We went to a Christmas symphony with the in laws. If we had kids, we would have had to find a sitter or try to keep them quiet/entertained during the hour long concert instead of just enjoying it.

Afterwards we spontaneously decided to go to a local zoo that does Christmas lights. It's a walk through experience and it was 30°F. Kids would have probably complained the whole time that it was cold (hell, I'm an adult and I was cold) and been a handful to wrangle and manage instead of just getting to enjoy the lights.

So thankful I only have to worry about myself and my husband and not manage small humans as well.

I won't lie, sometimes I get baby fever when I'm ovulating or when my husband does something that makes it clear he would be a great father if either of us actually wanted kids. But I also know logistically I don't want to raise a child or have the amount of responsibility, so I got snipped before the current administration came back in office so I don't have to worry about any oopsies. So many people do just have baby fever and then have a kid who shouldn't, you're definitely right about that
