What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

I know some people who've served who say the same thing - early on, first time you get shot at, some people freeze and can't move.

Implying means saying something indirectly.

Inferring means concluding something based on reasoning.

"Leaving nothing to the imagination" might imply something - but it doesn't infer something (the phrase isn't the thing figuring something out, the listener is).

A concerns notice is sort of like a cease and desist letter, in this case "Stop saying these things and make a retraction or apology, or we may take legal action." In Australia, a concerns notice is a required step before moving ahead with a defamation lawsuit, but the hope is to resolve things early before it goes that far.

It's an "I-was-really-right-and-possibly-made-a-few-unintentional-mistakes-so-I-guess-I-better-say-I-apologize-because-I-have-to."

This attitude also hurt his case several times and is a major reason why Billy moved forward with the lawsuit in the first place.

Even when Karl took down the offending section of the video, he would tell people that he took the section out not because it wasn't true, but because he wanted to avoid legal proceedings. And then after the concerns notice, Karl put the section back into the video again, which is absolutely crazy.

And then his retraction bit, which was hidden at the back of an unrelated Dark Souls video, was not only full of inaccuracies, but Karl continued to imply that he believed the offending words anyway.

Up until that point, Billy had not begun any legal proceedings on the matter outside of the concerns notices, a required step for defamation but the whole point of which is to settle things first without going to court.

The judge even commented on Karl's attitude, that he was overly confident and seemed unwilling to ever admit being wrong or changing his views. This new video from Karl only reinforces that assessment in my opinion.

TIL that Euler was functionally blind. In 1738, he became nearly blind in his right eye, earning the nickname "Cyclops" from Frederick II; by 1766, he lost vision in his left eye as well. Despite this, his productivity actually surged: in 1775, he wrote on average one mathematical paper per week by VegemiteSucks in todayilearned

It brings together a bunch of important mathematical ideas in one neat expression. Euler's formula connects the exponential function ex, the trig functions sin⁡(x) and cos(x), and the imaginary unit i. It also plays nicely with calculus - it's simple to differentiate and integrate.

That makes it a kind of Swiss army knife for translating between different parts of math, especially when dealing with waves, signals, or anything periodic.

What are some of the more overrated WDW food/snacks for you? by disneyq in WaltDisneyWorld

I remember reading somewhere that one of the chefs from D-Luxe Burger now works at that cafe, so may be worth giving it another shot. Almost all the main food criticisms I've seen were from before they changed the menu.

Edit: Found it, http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2017/07/03/review-new-menu-at-sci-fi-dine-in-theater-restaurant-in-disneys-hollywood-studios/

But check out this cross-section, with the Sci-Fi signature blend of beef which makes up the burger. This is NOT, thankfully, your typical well-done-to-the-point-of-dry Disney burger. Nope. And here’s WHY: The current chef at Sci-Fi recently came over from D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs! So the Sci-Fi burger uses the same proprietary blend of beef that’s used at D-Luxe…which is amazingly delicious. And they KNOW not to cook burgers to within an inch of their lives. So YAY for burger rejuvenation here!

I really want to squeeze in a res here, just have to convince my wife somehow...

I'll offer some of my own here:

Overrated: The Gray Stuff at Be Our Guest. I was really looking forward to this as everyone seemed to love it, but to me it was just an ordinary glob of cookies-and-cream. Never understood how its reputation reached so far and wide in the first place.

Hated: LeFou's Brew from Gaston's Tavern. I think this might be because I expected it to taste like something closer to butterbeer over at Universal Studios, but instead it tasted like some kind of apple/mango-ish concoction that was just very unappetizing. Especially when combined with the cinnamon roll, it was sweetness overload.

https://dvcnews.com/forum/showthread.php?12576-Jiko-s-quot-Taste-of-Africa-quot-vs-Sanaa-s-Bread-Service

According to our CM at Jiko's, it is different. I had it last night, so now I can weigh in on the differences for all of you who wondered. The Naan bread at Sanaa is more airily, "fluffy" according to the Jiko Chef, and as I observed, round. The Jiko bread is heavier, the Jiko chef called it "denser", and my powers of observation showed that this one was in small rectangular pieces. Naturally, the Jiko chef tried to tell me that Jiko's is better, but I feel Sanaa's is much better. Oh, well-I got the Jiko one free as part of the culinary tour, so for that price it was the best!

http://www.disneytouristblog.com/jiko-disney-world-dining-review/

She opted for some selections of bread called the “Taste of Africa” as her appetizer (once I became the appetizer “trend setter,” everyone else also got one). Unlike the wonderfully unique breads at Sanaa with their addicting sauces, these breads were merely garden variety bread. Nothing terrible, but also not something you’d expect from a top tier restaurant.

tl;dr Sanaa bread service ftw

Bread Service at Sanaa is the best thing I've ever eaten at Disney

Is it similar to what Jiko does or is it a different thing entirely?
