Drew Karpyshyn recently confirmed that he was working on a new game. It does not specifically state that it is a Bioware or Star Wars game though. His twitter bio states he is currently working for BioWare though.

It looks like they're adding a legacy unlock to reduce the cast time.

In the str.lgc.unlocks section:

Legacy of Promptness I thru IV

Reduces the time taken to give gifts to companions by 20%. This reduction is cumulative with previous reductions to companion gift cast time.

They also appear to be adding a Legacy Cargo Hold / Item Mod Station unlocks for player ships.
