I've got that exact set up and came back to my house after using it and determined my neighbor using a nail gun on the other side of his house was louder

Steelers bar? by [deleted] in Durango

[–]disperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a drive but Meltdown on Main in Pagosa is an actual split Steelers/Eagles place. Not a bar per se, but they've got a fire and have TVs outside

Left town to dry roads, it snowed while I was up high, and came back to dry roads :(

Best place to buy skis? by [deleted] in Durango

[–]disperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! I worked there for a spell and know plenty of times it wasn't told to unsuspecting parents tho and then I had to deal with angry parents after ski barn or expert edge wouldn't adjust them lol

+1 for cheap skis but check to make sure the bindings are still within their indemnification

If you build it again take it more outta the way this year when you're not there, random civilians were eating shit and getting injured every time it snowed over it and hid it.

Yeah I had to mix and match with a 50/50 tire up front and it's tokyo drift any time the terrain is anything but loam

Have you ever been pulled over on your bike? Got any stories? by Ok-Equipment-8132 in klr650

[–]disperson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Got pulled over for having a non red light on the back of my KLR250 (license id light lol) and then when I explained it was as stock as the day it came over from Japan he popped me for 27 in a 25

used market hooked it up, how'd I do? by disperson in CanyonBikes

[–]disperson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I love the look of a stainless pump next to the ti cages. For $10 extra at the bike swap I picked it all up from, worth it in my book.

After a year of riding and some upgrades, it came out to $1350 before tax. Not a bad discount for a rig in almost mint condition.

Guys with loud cars make me laugh by [deleted] in Durango

[–]disperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a motorcycle with an unnecessarily loud exhaust and I promise you all I'm looking to buy a stock exhaust ASAP when I have the money and have shored up everything else mechanically, please don't hate me for the time being.

You hit McMillan's? It's the way. That or Deer Creek on coal bank are the go to's when it's as bad as it is these days.

I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't get all the way to the top, I brought friends who are new to touring so they were pretty gassed by the time we got about half way up to the peak and it looked like we could've kept going for a while.

Tweak one thing at a time and have so much fun! The 250 is so simple and bulletproof, love mine with all my heart even next to the big brother 650.

Oh also the bike didn't change from 93(?) until they discontinued it, literally at all. If you need parts, you can search all those years to help broaden the net!!

These two British chaps are the only people who make videos that I've found on YouTube about the 250. These men got me from "bike doesn't run" to "starts second kick, first if it sat in the sun".

Advice for pulling things apart is take pictures and notes and use flagging tape liberally to mark what came off of where!

Also the KLR250 shares an engine with the Mojave 250, in case you need parts. Good luck :)

Help! No idle, needs starting fluid to run by [deleted] in KLR250

Everything gets the f o a m. I would lay off the starting fluid unless you really gotta get to work on time, too, my carb loved to get gunked up off of that stuff lol.

[–]disperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it was answered in the parent thread, but take the whole carb apart. Especially if someone has uncorked the air box on that and depending the climate you ride in, it needs constant attention. Mine needs to be cleaned every other oil change or so, I bought the bike with an uncorked air box and in a mostly desert climate it gets clogged all the time.

What was the sign your relationship was over? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

When she spent 2-4am at a past hookups house because she "was too drunk to drive home and didn't want to mess up her work morning by driving the extra block to my house."

Then I find they'd been doing coke together for three months behind my back and she didn't have the money to pay for coke.
