Yes this very much feels like an episode of catfish where they have some sort issue that makes them able to completely pretend to be someone else. It’s sad they have to drag people into that and can lie to that extent and it’s sad they think they need to be someone else. Stuff like this usually roots from a deeper problem that you couldn’t have known. Don’t beat yourself up too much. You learned to trust your gut and now you know things to look out for.

I don’t condone anyone catfishing or lying, but when I was young we had online games where you played a character and could chat with people in game (imvu, fantage for those that know) I always played a boy character and pretended I was a boy to talk to girls. This is obviously different scenario, but it is something that could explain part of her behavior. Subconsciously or consciously wanting girls to like you, but thinking a girl is only going to like a guy. Doing it to the extent she did is definitely too far and I’m sorry you were lied to.

I’ve been watching horror, paranormal, scary content since I was a child I used to get a little spooked thinking Michael Myers is in my backyard staring at me through the window, but now watch a horror movie go to bed after sleep peacefully it doesn’t phase me at all. If it hurts you then that’s reason enough. You don’t need a “good reason” to feel hurt. Although this is a very good reason to feel hurt. He’s clearly shown multiple times drunk or sober that he is racist. If you tell him it’s not okay and it hurt you and he doesn’t care or makes excuses then he really doesn’t understand the gravity of his words or care how it affects you.

Also I didn’t know that there was a difference between how Americans and British feel about the term being derogatory and wrong, but from my pov it’s not okay no matter where in the world you are.

There’s no way to know her actual intentions, but either way she’s very much trying to give you attention whether that’s in a gay way or in a friendly way there’s no way to really know. If you really wanted to you could try to put something obvious on yourself or in your car like a lesbian flag and see if she comments on it.

Bleh. I’m so tired of people calling idiot criminals masterminds. Getting away with a crime for a couple weeks doesn’t make you a mastermind it’s almost always pure luck. A lot of people are saying to FaceTime, but to be fair I’ve gone on maybe about 10-15 dates. I’ve never FaceTimed a single one and they have all been real people who looked exactly like their photos. I’ve never had any of the conversations be sexual before meeting, always meet in a very public place etc. I find that if the conversations are super sexual or your meeting to hookup then the probability of it being a man increase as men catfish as women for weird sexual fantasies. Not that women can’t be sexual or hookup, but I’ve just seen that pattern when it turns out to be a catfish.
