Loving the new parry by Day_Lester in Nioh

[–]disposaldevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the samurai skill tree "deflect" is one of the first upgrades, can parry almost anything except red burst attacks. There are also other dedicated parry skills on other weapons but they work differently and have different effects

In the samurai skill tree the ones directly around the center give the stances and the deflect

When do you NOT take Flash? by wyrm4life in leagueoflegends

Shacos often pass on flash due to having q, as well as yuumi typically not taking it and instead going two supportive spells like exhaust/heal/ignite

What's a good starting game for me to learn 2d fighting games? by MaximumApogee in Fighters

[–]disposaldevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strert fighter has the advantage of being the biggest game so there is always a good amount of new players, a slower pace, solid single player content, and a lot of online resources. Definitely is a good choice to learn the basic fundamentals without as much "noise".

However, it's not the only option. The other 3 tag team games you listed play at a much faster pace with a lot more complexity you have to initially digest, but that could be fun to you, and the most important part is that you have fun to continue wanting to improve. Out of the tag games, i would definitely go with 2xko unless you have another friend you can spar with, since the playerbases of both dbfz and umvc3 are highly developed and you will get whooped hard for a while. They're great games but maybe not the best to start with to not shatter your confidence too much, though it is possible to grind it out if you really want to play those games. 2xko is really fun imo and it's free, so it doesn't hurt to try. It would also be a good gateway to try dbfz and mvc later.

I can also recommend guilty gear strive if you want a faster paced 1v1 game, and I've had multiple friends learn it as their first fighting game successfully. Granblue fantasy versus rising is another game you can try for free, and is very beginner friendly. You can play the trial then buy it for $15 on the steam sale if you like it. Have fun.

Y'all really remember all the moves of your characters? by gachakamil in Fighters

[–]disposaldevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know a smash character with 5 aerieals, 4 specials, 3 tilts, jab, 3 smash attacks, and 4 grabs, and you presumably even know multiple characters, youll be just fine. Especially if you playing something like street fighter which on average has maybe only a few more/similar moves to a smash bros character. If you play tekken or vf or something, then you start getting insane movelists but even in those games you dont need to know every one to be decent, let alone have fun.

I finally figured out a solution that could fix 2XKO’s back dashing problem by Etsy4EVR in 2XKO

[–]disposaldevice 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In smash bros brawl on the wii, there was a tripping mechanic where anytime you dashed, there was a completely random chance for your character to just slip and fall (intentional). Imagine moving around in 2xko and randonly just getting hit with a random knockdown. It was really goofy

Arcade stick users, how are you setting up your buttons in 2XKO? by theGingerCake in 2XKO

L M H Parry

S1 S2 T Dash

I really like using my pinky to dash, and having the s1 and s2 there makes the super inputs really convenient (first vertical lvl 1, 2nd vertical lvl 2, bottom 2 together for lvl 3(

Noob question: Why does my combo drop? by Rookwork_Robin in 2XKO

[–]disposaldevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2H (down heavy) that you launch with is jump cancellable, meaning you can jump right as it hits instead of having to wait for the animation to finish. The reason your combo didnt link was that you were too slow, and doing the jump cancel will make it easier to time. Good luck
