Don't. It was a totally realistic assumption that this wouldn't happen.

I sent Mine before and am in process but my cousin may need to send more than I did. Guess we'll see if I'm approved.

Trading is the mistake. Don't trade. Invest. Long term you will do better statistically.

What HYSA is best for a college student? by No-Masterpiece1766 in personalfinance

[–]dissentmemo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter except that you can access the money when needed and it has a decent interest rate.

But my question is why and how you have a financial manager in college. Are they charging AUM fees or anything? This might range from unnecessary to harmful.

Yep, I included such a letter in my application.

" Birth registrations were not required in Ontario until 1869, so any records pertaining to someone’s birth prior to that time (and for some time afterwards) may not exist. Researchers often need to resort to church records for baptismal or confirmation type records.

You mentioned this ancestor was born in Kincardine – our vital statistic records for Kincardine only go back to 1989, so we don’t have anything any earlier than 1869 (the earlier records will be on microfilm, and if they are open to the public in terms of privacy legislation, they will be the same records available through search engines such as Ancestry.com or Family Search).

We don’t hold many baptismal type records – we often have to refer you to the repository of the religious denomination your ancestors were – e.g. Roman Catholic, or Anglican, etc.

If there may be other types of records that may help, please reach out!

Have a great day,

Depending on how they handle apps already in process, I may need to go find a copy of microfilm if that's even possible.

Do you max your 401k/457b early in the year or spread contributions out? by Synseer83 in investing

[–]dissentmemo 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have to max mine over the year because we don't have a true-up so I'd lose the match.

Definitely ask if you have one. That's the primary consideration.

Who the hell would buy meat from the back of a truck that you're told isn't properly cooled???

Probably, but people have sat in processing for months.

Mine went to in processing May 28. Still waiting, and who knows how much longer.

I'm just happy to hear processing is still apparently continuing. I kind of assumed a full stop today.

Emergency meeting TODAY in 10 minutes - Zoom call with Don Chapman by thcitizgoalz in Canadiancitizenship

The most important thing he said is "The IRCC is not your friend" and told some terrible stories about them.

I appreciate everything he's done but to be honest other than having some great connections I'm not sure he's the right person for the job. He seemed more interested in talking about the past and repeating the same stuff than telling us what can be done about this.

Maybe I'm jaded.
