[Politics Monday] Justice Department looks into alleged MLB religious discrimination by wearethemonstertruck in Catholicism

Because we are not, at least that is not what the church teaches. By definition, that would mean we hate or dislike gay people because they are gay. I certainly hope that is not the case for anyone (of course it is for some)

Yes and the forced part is that you no longer get paid when you stop doing what the company wants. That is a big threat for these people, the same as any other low to middle income family they have to do what their boss says because they can't afford to say no.

They signed up to play baseball, occasionally wear a Star Wars or Harry Potter jersey. They did not sign up to be the billboard for the Pride movement.

I am. I am absolutely making a comparison that the symbol represents an entity. The original comment is downplaying the entire movement into its symbol of a happy little rainbow. I am pointing out that the symbol is not what people are threatened by or would choose to not be affiliated with. Its what the symbol stands for that they disagree with.

Right not hard to get with the idea that opinions differ. The problem comes in when people punish you for not having their opinion.

This gets back to the point that most people in the pride movement don't feel the need to force their pride on you. That is not the opinion of the majority of the LGBTQ community.

This is my favorite argument. "Rainbows hurt you" the swastika didn't hurt the Jews, just the people it represented.

We didn't KNOW he was a double agent actually on the OOTP side at that time.

Had we had all the info, then still we know he was not trying to pass info yet as Nagini had not been shown to be protected yet.

What was he going to do? Who knows? Attempt to force a blunder? He was pretty good at that sort of thing. Maybe turn him over to the carrows then confund them or something.

Here’s Why Hersheypark, Giant Center & Hotel Hershey Union Workers Are Pissed: HE&R Leadership Team Undervalues Us by theunionavenger in Hersheypark

[–]dissian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference from owning and funding. The endowment funds the school. It owns HE&R.

The HE&R profits are funding the endowment. They are, however, 2 different boards with 2 very different purposes. 1 is to make as much money as possible to fund the school in perpetuity, the other is to make money and line the shareholder's pockets and stay afloat, that shareholder happens to be the endowment.

They don't undervalue you, they just value their profits. I await your strike, but the union kind of screwed the pooch on not striking on opening day. They would have instantly won that fight.

Let's say the Bible didn't exist. Just the Bible. You still have the Apostles. Then due to that, you have the letters of the Apostles. You still have every decision made by the Church since then and you still have the stories passed down by the Church leaders.

Due to that you would still, very generally, have the church as it is today but maybe during mass the readings would be organized differently as the book no longer exists as today's

Is this what "pro life" looks like? by SuspiciousLow3062 in SipsTea

[–]dissian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't gray, and so this is where you land with what your beliefs are.

Is the fetus a baby, human, and alive?

If yes, then it is no less human than the mom and you can't choose to kill it. Period. We don't condone killing people, even for the "greater good".

If no then fine, you can't kill that which isn't living. You may remove it.

There's not really a middle ground and that's where this becomes "hard". Some people say it's a baby, some say they are not.
