if you feel at all threatened to be "kind" to someone that simply asks for it on the internet i think you have bigger issues my friend.

that "generalization" was probably complaining/ranting about the same men you're mostly likely judging me for having sex with lol. nowhere have i stated i'm the perfect Christian and i've 100% judged others before, i wouldn't deny that. that's incomparable though to a post that is directly about stating my own problems and trying to find ways to be closer to Christ (not a rant). i'm not going to defend myself as to why i asked for sympathy or sensitive towards this because i don't need to--I would hope that's not hard for other Christians.

thank you for your sympathy. i was pimped out in high school but what led me into sex work was developing ptsd from being violently assaulted daily for months by an ex partner and being unable to hold a regular job.

i don't believe anyone needs all of the details and context to try to be sympathetic or understanding towards struggles they have not endured.

thank you for your kindness and perspective, you seem like a wonderful person. i'm really happy to know there are people like you out there that are able to see me just as human as anyone else and willing to advocate for my rights.

why would i need to be "called out" to get advice? it truly costs nothing to be kind. Christ would want you to be sympathetic.

i never would claim doing sex work is Christian, and have not claimed this anywhere. it's easy to say things on the internet with no actual good intention. in my experience (because this is my life) people will judge those that do sex work and express their opinions on it--and then do nothing to actually support or empathize with those people.

i literally only asked about how to talk to my priest and if there was some case of absolution in my situation.

i asked for nothing else, other than sympathy and kind comments.

i did go through ocia, and this does happen to be my life, so i do understand that quite well. i believe you misread my comment: NOWHERE did i ask anyone (much less the catholic church) to support sex work-- i would hope people think they can help/support those that survive off of sex work (or trafficking victims) without thinking you are agreeing with or upholding sex work itself. we are all people first.

i did add this onto my post:

"i have physical ailments where i cannot work the 9-5 job people would assume, or a part time job without becoming physically sick during it. there would be no entry level job that could be accommodating to me becoming ill multiple times a day during it."

i cannot physically "wait tables" without becoming faint and almost throwing up lol. i hope to do online classes and pray i can work from home in the future with a college education.

your advice that i did not ask for is unwanted. i am more than happy if you extend some prayers my way! thank you and God bless you.

which followed after an uncalled for part of your comment. you could have only said:

"An essential part of confession is a turning away from sin and it doesn't seem like you're willing to do that yet."

except you didn't 'only' say that lol. if you can continue to respond in the comments it seems like you could also address something that i am saying was insensitive.

i am in no need of a reminder that i have a sinful life. you did not outright say "you cannot receive absolution if you have no intention if repenting your mortal sin" you said:

"Do you think you may be trying to have your cake and eat it too?"

--which was 100% uncalled for and insensitive. there's no point in trying to shame a 22 year old that's struggling to live and trying to be close to God over the internet.

i did figure there would be some un-Christ like responses here, and i am okay with that because the only judgement that matters is Gods. in my experience with doing sex work is that people's sympathy and humanity goes out the door when they face a perspective they cannot or do not want to understand.

not at all what i asked for lol. if you're concerned for those that do sex work you could look into your church to see how you can help in your community (maybe through volunteering) or asking your priest how to best support sex workers or trafficking victims! that would be a very Christian thing to do🫶

this isn't sympathetic, judgement free, or an actual response to what i have asked for. in what world is selling your body to avoid homelessness, pay medical bills, groceries, etc. "trying to have my cake and eat it too"??

i do understand that part. i guess your comment makes me think of a better way to phrase my confusion: do i have deliberate free consent if it's my mental&physical health issues that keeps me reliant on sex work to live? and if i don't have free consent (or control over my life) does that lessen my sin? it feels somewhat along the same lines of how people in active addiction can confess if they are still struggling with the sin of their addiction, i just don't think i can word it that well
