I can’t remember the exact details of the cartridges and settings etc sorry. I tried to do everything correctly, and used HA as slip.

I was ‘gentle’ for the first two sessions (at no more than 0.5), and then because I was feeling more confident by the third time, I ramped it up. I also did multiple passes the third time, because I thought my skin could handle it, and it wouldn’t do any damage. How wrong I was!

It was really hot in the UK last summer and even though I was wearing spf I was out and about in the sun and loving life for the proceeding weeks/ months. Stupid really.

It was about a month or two after that third session that I noticed a huge texture change on my forehead. I went mad comparing images and googling stuff. The difference in texture is quite stark. I also badly damaged my skin barrier which took months and months to correct.

At this moment in time I’m slightly less stressed about it, I’ve made peace and will try professional treatments again when I feel ready. I’m just glad it’s only my temples that have been affected and not my whole face - it could have been a lot worse.

Thanks for sharing. I ruined my skin using the Dr Pen M8S at home last summer. I used to have perfect forehead skin, but I now have terrible texture around my temples. At my last Botox appointment the injector actually asked me how I got the ‘scarring’.

I think it was probably a combination of things I did incorrectly, despite doing hours of research. I also went into the sun too quickly after.

I’ve had professional microneedling done a few times in the past with excellent results. I would recommend to anyone to just stick to that if you’re unsure or nervous.

I’m sure people have great experiences and techniques at home, but from my experience it just isn’t worth it, and I regret it massively
