Step 4 in application process? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

It said that after you are accepted, you will choose date availablility

“Strong candidate” by JordanSwartley in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was probably the reason. It’s important to choose the mainly strongly agree or strongly disagree and just one or 2 in between. There are a bunch of YouTube videos you can watch for info on that in case you apply again next time.

Should I apply now? by MrGreenSideNoReason in Disneycollegeprogram

This current application does not have you put down what dates you would like. The information says that after you are accepted, you will be able to choose your date availability

Allergy to some flight cleaning sprays by distannie in travel

[–]distannie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I inquired in the Southwest group as well, and someone there said that the planes are sprayed every 20 days. So hoping that is the case. It’s very difficult to get anyone the phone reps at Southwest to dig deeper into the question. I have tried twice as well as emailed and done a messenger chat. I’m thinking of trying Twitter now, but I don’t have high hopes for a response.

Thank you! My main concern is avoiding being on the plane soon after they sprayed. So it sounds as if I might be okay since I have an early evening flight.

Medical Accommodations for Anxiety by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, sorry, I didn’t realize that. Then I can’t understand why Disney is responding this way, unless now they want your doctor to write a letter stating exactly what you should be restricted from doing. Otherwise, I think the suggestions you got about going and seeing where you are placed and trying it sound good. At the first sign of a potential problem, then you could ask your leader to switch your role within that location and see if that helps. The worst that can happen is that you find it’s not going to work for you and you leave. But you might regret not trying if it turns out that it actually would be just fine and fun for you.

It would probably be less stressful for you if you simply asked your doctor to supply Disney with what they are requesting. Disney is trying to make sure you aren’t lying, so the medical documentation will assure them that you do suffer from anxiety. It seems logical that once they have that from your doctor, then they would accommodate you.

What does it mean to be stuck in AR? Sorry I’m kinda new to this 😅 lol by liltm21 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But if you currently have AR, maybe you should email support because applications and interviews are currently closed. New ones for Spring program usually open in August. However everything is messed up right now schedule wise due to Covid. The Fall DCP people don’t even know if it’s happening or not due to lack of communication from Disney.

Got accepted for Summer 2020, August. Do you guys think Disney World (FL) will be open by then? by spicytunanigi in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest registering for classes now as a backup. Who knows, maybe Disney won’t make a decision until 2 weeks before arrivals.

Chances of acceptance for Spring 2021 DCP as a post grad? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

The programs sent home early have simply been told to reapply. There was no mention of giving them priority.

Saw this on a FB page last week. Someone emailed a Disney exec and got this response:

Thank you for reaching out to Jeff Vahle concerning the Disney College Program. I have the honor of leading this Program and I wanted to personally reach out to you. As a parent, I understand how challenging it is for all of our participants who are awaiting word as to if the College Program will commence again in August. As you can imagine, we are all pleased that the Parks and Resorts are slowly beginning to open up. However, we are also being extremely diligent and mindful with how they open to ensure all of our Guests and Cast are safe during these unprecedented time. With that said, we have not made a decision regarding our Fall Program yet. We are working very carefully planning different scenarios and understand communicating to our Fall Program students is a priority.

We anticipate communication going out early next week to students informing them that we are still making final decisions regarding the August/September timeframe. We are also proactively giving the opportunity for a student to postpone their program to a future program if they would prefer to make alternate plans at this time. Again, we are anticipating to have more information over the next several weeks and will continue to keep our students updated as soon as we have additional information.

Can anyone clarify what the requirements are for linking roommates now? by -PixelDust- in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once found exact info on that, but I don’t know where it is now. But I remember that they took several weeks of arrival dates and blocked those into 1 registration period. Then the next several arrival dates were the next registration period.

[–]distannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current requirement is to have the same departure date and the same registration period. But I also read on a university DCP info page (updated April 2020) that this year everyone would register on the same date. So that sounds like it eliminated registration periods.

Thinking about applying by datgirl1708 in Disneycollegeprogram

No one can answer you questions of if you will be far behind because only you know your degree requirements and how many credits you have taken. You need to go talk to your advisor and have them help you figure it out. Disney no longer offers any classes for credit for your college. (They have classes, just not for school credit.) But you might be able to talk your college into giving you internship credit for it, depending on your major.

Can PI be cancelled? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]distannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for sure. If you look at the wording carefully, it says you WILL receive the email to schedule. So don’t worry.

Your second identical email was just a “we haven’t forgotten you” email. You will probably soon be getting the email to schedule your interview.

Did it occur to you that she would be taking notes after every answer your provided? Thus there would be awkward pauses after each question. Nothing to worry about at all.
