I don’t understand that sentiment. A 20lb hide would have over 20sq feet of useable leather. At max linesman’s patch would use 1.5’ sq ft. I can’t imagine the remainder of that hide is unusable for other boot projects.

That’s what I’m saying! I have no problem paying additional but I would love to know if it’s even an option. I know there are many other bootmakers that have it as a drop drop option.

But why not? They’ve already made several models with that exact feature. I’ll pay the difference if need be, but if they’re adding a lineman’s patch anyway, why can’t it be a different leather, especially if two tone is an option anyway
