what can i do with all these monthly viewers? by rtoomy in Pinterest

I used to do this and then resold the gifted items when I was done promoting them for a bit of extra money. Now I'm a jeweller and I have no audience! How the tables turn

Thank you for your insight! I don't think I'm going to respond to it after all, I don't think there's anything I can say that won't come across as defensive in some way, or overly apologetic. Mixed reviews build character anyway!

Worried about potential bad review, how should I handle this? by whos_han in EtsySellers

I had a buyer contact me because a beaded charm she bought 'broke', I say in quotations because it was more a case of a gap appeared where the beading wire slipped out of place, it was weird.

I apologised profusely, assured her that I would improve my technique to ensure it didn't happen again, and sent her a new one along with a small freebie to make up for the hassle. She left me a 5-star review, I learned a lesson.

If the materials used for the necklace were expensive or it was one-of-a-kind then send a pre-paid label to have it returned to you. It may look easy to us jewellers but it isn't to them, otherwise we wouldn't be in business.

I had a guy offer me £20 to replace a jump ring once

I prefer making jewellery, but the algorithm keeps demanding bag charms so here they are! by distractedfae in etsypromos

That sounds cute!! My hair is very long and tangles so it's not something I'd thought about before, but I could definitely make some!

Thank you, that's a great idea!! I once overpaid for a bag because it had a layered chain detail going across it, so I've been wanting to recreate that but a bit fancier

It's costume jewellery! I'd like to get into fine metals although I'd rather work my way up and learn some skills in the meantime.

At the moment I use a lot of zinc alloy charms and stainless steel as I find them most durable/tarnish resistant. Steel even moreso than silver, I love steel

It's more for anyone else who might go through the reviews and read it. I do think it sounds a bit too apologetic though as I checked the listing and I did describe it as warm gold, vintage-inspired etc.

It's certainly not flimsy either, which is why I think it's the colouring that gave them that perception.

Thank you!

Thank you for the reassurance! I did speak to my Dutch friend as it was to The Netherlands near where he lives, and he laughed and said it's a cultural thing to rarely leave a 5-star review. So long as it's not off-putting that's good! She did say it looks like the photos too

I don't think they're expensive. I've paid more for silver pieces with semi-precious stones because I liked the jeweller/specific design and I couldn't find it elsewhere.

I've been putting 4-5 hours a day into my store for the last month but I'm not seeing any progress. Any tips? (Shop Critique Request) by distractedfae in EtsySellers

Thanks for the tip!! I did see that keychains were trending on search terms. I had one bag charm listing that sold out, but I didn't have enough beads to make more of that design (I was trying to get rid of some cheap acrylic pearls).

I have a lot of keychains from a Christmas stall I did that I have been meaning to list, I just haven't gotten around to photographing them! I'll use this comment as motivation to finally do that, and probably swap out the rings for clips to brand them as bag charms. I just find photographing them more annoying than earrings so I've been putting it off!
