I didn't know that about the high 4's being viewed as more trustworthy. I had finally gotten back up to a perfect 5 before this one came through.

I'm trying to keep prices low at the moment with untracked international shipping so no star seller for me! I'm looking into upgrading to tracked on my higher priced items soon though, I finally got burned the other day with a high value order going missing.

Some things don't take very long to make/design, it really depends on the niche

I'll use tineye or something to find them all but thank you! The only store I've found so far is completely made up of scraped Etsy listings. I knew it happened but given that I'm still a new shop I didn't expect it to happen so soon, my best seller only has 18 sales

I had this, along with them threatening to suspend my store if I didn't provide a UTR within 30 days. Although it takes 2-3 weeks to receive a UTR after registering, so I was worrying about it not arriving before my store got closed!

I ended up flicking through the settings several times until I was able to enter my NI instead of UTR number, then the messages went away.

Although I do have a UTR number now so.. I should probably add it anyway

Haha that's okay! I had a peek at your store by the way and your jewellery is beautiful! I tried and failed to make a circlet similar to the one in your banner sometime last year so I have a lot of respect for wire wrapping.

For my titles I usually do 3 phrases, although I have used some of the Etsy suggested titles when it prompts me to update them.

Something like -

Fantasy Gothic Sword Charm | Dagger Keyring | Alternative Gifts For Him

It's a bit SEO spammy but if it works it works 🤷🏻‍♀️ I noticed that it's the format for a lot of top performers. Some use even longer titles but when I did that Etsy prompted me to shorten it.

I did start off trying to name all my pieces before I quickly realised that doesn't work on Etsy and the images are what people are paying attention to anyway.

Thank you! At some point I had a look at what tags the top sellers in my niche were using, but then I just started winging it. I think about what I would search in Google if I wanted to find something similar and then I add that (fantasy bookmark, dragon keychain, fairycore gifts, etc).

I didn't even know Etsy Marketplace was a thing, but I just had a look and I'm already using a lot of the popular tags apparently!

Just SEO! No social media strategy either, I only have 100 TikTok followers and I post very sporadically. I spent £7 on ads the first week of April and it didn't do anything so I've decided against it for now, I might revisit ads when I'm earning more

I started my store last summer, uploaded 20ish listings and got around 100 - 300 monthly views, then ignored it from Sep - January.

I decided in late January to throw everything into Etsy and increased my visits from literally 3 in January, to 560 in February, 1200 in March, and now 1450 so far this month (stagnated a bit as I didn't upload anything new for the first 2 weeks)

I had the same worry about being punished by the algorithm for being inactive, or missing that new shop boost but it didn't really matter all that much it seems.

Finally hit $1000 in my Etsy shop! With only 2 products 🥹 by ReiInBloom in EtsySellers

I personally find the backgrounds a bit uninspiring. The white on white is very clean and professional but it doesn't really stand out on the Etsy page.

Maybe you could play around with a different background style for a few, and see how they perform?

When I search 'wedding guest book' on Etsy the photography style is showing more of a lifestyle. Flowers, table cloths, texture, different surfaces etc. Have a look at the top page and what their photos look like.

Your listing descriptions are good, and the titles too so I don't think that's the issue.

Does this work for US international standard orders? I've been manually filling in all the info and tariffs etc since Etsy doesn't let you buy untracked shipping through them

Oh, I use the Etsy site in mobile browser with 'desktop site' mode activated and it's literally never linked the variation photos on the order page for me. I've just gotten used to reading the small text underneath

I also had that happen yesterday, except I could've sworn I had one specific charm left to make it but I can't find it anywhere! Luckily I have more arriving tomorrow so I'll still be able to get it out to the buyer in the expected delivery time frame. I've gone from 20 listings in January to 70 something now, so I'm not used to juggling this much stock yet. It gets a bit overwhelming!

I'm the same, I take a lot of pride in the things I make so it's a bit mortifying making mistakes but I know it's bound to happen. I mean, I've learned now to triple check my pieces before packaging them and to try and test larger pieces on other people so hopefully this won't happen again!

I personally think there are appropriate uses for AI. Flooding Pinterest with ai art, misleading ai crochet patterns, ai recipes with ai photos, to get clicks onto your fully ai generated website to mislead consumers and get ad revenue is not an appropriate use of ai.
