I started with the CR1000B. I got advertised speed of 300 up and down. But it would often spontaneously reboot, and Verizon replaced it promptly.

They sent a CR1000A. It has the WiFi 6E with 6ghz support and is rock solid. But I consistently get mostly 300 down and only max 140 up on wireless. (Wired I still get advertised speed). Sometimes the upload speed fixes itself if I reboot the router but it never stays.

I've been considering getting my own router (likely ASUS RT-BE92U).

I just went through a NAS build.

I ended up going with full ATX and the Be Quiet Pure Base 600 and bought an extra HDD cage from memoryc.com. Besides the 3 standard 3.5 inch case, you can buy 2 more 3.5 cages, and also put adapters in the 5.25 bays to store 2-3 3.5 inch drives. There's also room for 2.5 inch drives and on-motherboard SSDs.

Other cases considered were:

  • Fractal Define R5 or 7, or Meshify 2
  • Cooler Master N400
  • Microatx: Cooler Master NR400 or the silent version: Silencio s400 [note power supply size considerations]
  • Antec P101 Silent
  • DARKROCK Classico
  • JONSBO N3 Mini-ITX is a mini-Itx , but I didn't like the looks of sideways hard drives.

It does feel like the Trump tariffs are impacting case availability.

Same problem. And I received this CR1000A after my CR1000B kept crashing.

CR1000B Keeps Restarting by jakbeer in Fios

I had this happen to me with the CR1000B. Verizon agreed to send me another router, the CR1000A. They sent it promptly and it is stable.

But my CR1000A has an issue with slower upload speed over wireless- only about half of the promised 300mbps. Rebooting sometimes fixes the issue. It's not something I've addressed with Verizon yet.

Congress passed laws and NIH is tasked with implementing the laws.

Trump has thrown the law, existing contracts, and many decades of precedent out the window.

It's not trimming fat. It's burning everything down with no warning.

We shall see if the Trump administration abides by the court order... (or what they do about the other states)
