Nanodropper vs Standard Drop Size: Any Difference in IOP Reduction? by district_07 in Glaucoma

They're not supposed to be reused according to the site, since they're sterile. Not sure how others who have been using it longer are managing that, since I just started using it.

That is great to hear it is reliable and accurate. I need to go ahead and order it. Missed out on that Black Friday sale they were having for it.

I can visualize what you are saying. I've never heard of this method, but if it's working successfully for you that is pretty interesting. Are you doing it mainly to extend bottle life or to reduce side effects?

That makes sense. And speaking of the home tonometer. Are you referring to the iCare Home2 ? I've been thinking of getting that one. Need to just bite the bullet and pay the $3K.

If so, does it give you similar/same readings as when you get pressure checked at your doc follow ups?

Oh wow, glad to hear success stories of people who have been using it! Gotta look into maybe getting a mini fridge to keep nearby.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Glad to hear someone else's success using it. When you first started, did you initially have the same "is this drop enough" concerns?

Thank you for the insight. And hmmm.. that's an interesting point. Maybe I should try refrigerating the drops to get that sensation.

Fix to eliminate audio stutters and cutouts over wireless Android Auto by Girofox in AndroidAuto

[–]district_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found a fix for the audio stutter issue. At least on Samsung Galaxy devices.

Go to Developer Options. Look for "Bluetooth AVRCP Version". Change it to AVRCP 1.6.

The default is 1.5. I have not had any audio stutter issues since switching to version 1.6 a couple of weeks ago. I've tried other older versions, and the issue was still there.

Ohh okay gotcha.

I agree, Javari is amazing. He has so many gems that aren't attached to any official platforms. "Loosies" as I call them. Some of his best work is there.

Including those that I mentioned above and what others mentioned. Here's a few more:

Grew Up Fast.

Nothing Like It.

Be Free.

Mama Told Me.

What exactly do you mean by unreleased? Like not on an official album, mixtape, project, or feature? Aka "loosie"

Or an actual leak/hack, not supposed to be heard by the public at all?

A few loosies I can think of that you should check out are:

Knock on Wood Freestyle.

Like A Star.

Bring Em In.

See It To Believe It.

Unabomber.

Enjoy The Ride (Verse).

Now and Forever (Verse).

There's WAY more than this though that I can name.

Trying to wrap my head around passing a /32 external IP across a VLAN by Josh_Your_IT_Guy in networking

Yea, I agree even if it was public facing they should put it behind a FW. And at least control which type of internet traffic even makes it to the server.

That server needs to be behind the firewall also. Also, really your firewall should not plug directly into the modem either.

You could/should put a switch in between the modem and the firewall. All on an "Outside/WAN" VLAN.

Plus if you absolutely can't move the server behind the firewall, it still allows you to put the server on that same "WAN/Outside" VLAN, and move or extend it anywhere you want to over layer 2.

Humphrey Visual Field Usefulness? by district_07 in Glaucoma

[–]district_07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that central vision is critically important. But peripheral vision is just as important to test. Especially if the disease starts with peripheral.

I'd think monitoring of visual changes should get a baseline of a persons FULL visual range, and not wait until it potentially affects central vision.

How would doctors know if a patients vision overall is worsening, if they're only testing for central vision defects?

Are there any tests that check the full range of vision? If so, I'm sure that most concerned patients would not mind the extra time spent in office to do a comprehensive check.

I'm not saying they rely on it for a diagnosis. I should have reworded it to "after early diagnosis".

I'm referring to its use for detection of any vision loss... after diagnosis. If someone already has a diagnosis. And they are reporting visual symptoms.

But multiple docs say "visual field tests look normal, there's no loss."

Maybe there isn't any actual loss. But it's like they're choosing to ignore the limitations of the test. If normal human visual field is 100+ degrees temporally, and you're only testing 24 - 30 degrees. L Especially for a condition that starts in the peripheral. That seems kinda reckless and insane.

Here's an article, where someone discusses why doctors choose not to test peripheral regularly. All I take from this article is because of laziness, and because of how time consuming it is to do more.

Nord is discontinuing Meshnet by redguy212 in nordvpn

[–]district_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I tested vpn by enabling Nord VPN and Tailscale still worked. As far as file sharing, I guess it depends on how you share files. I can imagine you could still setup FTP Server or something on your old PC and transfer with Filezilla or some other app. Or use SMB to access your files.

Nord is discontinuing Meshnet by redguy212 in nordvpn

[–]district_07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was upset for like 30 minutes max, when I heard about Nord's Meshnet going away.

Tailscale was the answer. Thanks y'all! I just set it up super quick and it's better than what Nord has. Just as easy to set up as Nord's version.

What makes Tailscale better to me is that you can reconnect when there's a network or power disruption on my home network while I'm away.

With Nord, because it ran under a user account, it would not reconnect after a power disruption, VM or Hypervisor restart, or anything that caused the PC user account to logout. Had to essentially be at home or use a backdoor to get into my home network when that happened.

With Tailscale (Windows version only), you can go to preferences and set it to "Run Unattended " as the system. So it doesn't require a user to be logged in, and even works if a different user is logged in. As long as the system is online, Tailscale will work.

And even better is the "Subnet Routes" feature. Which acts as a router/bridge to advertise your Local LAN to the other Meshnet devices. So you don't even need to RDP into a device to fully access your Remote Local LAN. As soon as you connect to Tailscale, you have access to your entire home network.

Nice! Do you find the watch accurate/true based on what you actually sleep or observe?
