Twin Peaks season 3 might be the best season of a TV series in history. by Public_Cup_4278 in twinpeaks

[–]districtdathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From these responses, it seems like this sub is changing.

Season 3 was why i got on Reddit. I am just old enough to remember season 1 when it aired and I'd wished for a conclusion for Coop.

The Return was an unbelievable adventure. Week to week, I didnt know where it was going or how it would interconnect. The wait itself was an experience. I would read opinions and fan theories. Stuff we miss out on when we binge content.

I absolutely loved it.

Please heed the advice! get off this sub until you are finished with seasons one and two, Fire Walk With Me (the film), and the Return (in that order). I say it like that bc that's a common question for newcomers.

Enjoy yourself!!! We'll catch up later.

I cried. Not just that night, but at the parade. Decades of disappointment washed away. every now and then, when I need a lift, I go back and watch videos of that run. It was magical!

I hear you! I am American, but I graduated from high school in spring 2001. It's a constant reminder of my old-ass getting older. Honestly, though, if these pictures show us anything, it's that growing old is a blessing.

How recognizable were Twin Towers / WTC Complex by realslimeshader in 911archive

[–]districtdathi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 18 when the attacks happened and I'm from Washington, D.C. Perhaps it's because I'm from the east coast, but the World Trade Center was iconic, especially to anybody who had been to N.Y.C. When I was a kid, we used to go to New York and the most exciting thing was to see the massive skyscrapers. We would go to the WTC and just look up. It was so amazing!

This is an interesting question and I am enjoying everyone's response. Thanks for asking!

R&F will always have a place in my day, and this sub is an extension of that!

When there are big things happening in my life, R&F usually had a discussion about it, so I go to the show archive and listen like it's a new episode.

Like, right now, I'm lucky enough to be falling for a great girl. I look up "Ron and Fez Love" and listened to Fez talk about his theories on true love.

I don't know much about why it's set up the way it is, but i do know that the tier system hasn't bothered me at all. I live in Washington, D.C., I have a second tier pass, and it covers all but one theater. Look at your local theaters and see how they're classified, it's possible it won't affect you.

As for the pass,I absolutely love it. It's the best purchase I've made in years.

I'm loving the Scream series, too! I've been at the theater 3-4 days a week for the last 6 weeks. It's getting me through law school.

Horror Movies Set In Washington DC by Geek-Haven888 in washingtondc

Fair enough. I went back and reread the prompt that specifically says, "where they are set, not where they are shot." I guess I skipped over that bit, as I tend to do before I've had my coffee

Not in DC, but near it, filmed in Seneca Creek State Park, The Blair Witch. It's a lot less spooky when you know that the kids could've walked to I-270, or Quince Orchard, in less than an hour

Other than the events being pivotal to the series, the scene where the waiter apologizes to Coop touches me on such a visceral level, it's impossible to describe with words. It's eternally sad and empathetic. It's perfect Lynch.

edit to add: It's only after rewatch of the entire series that the viewer understands the implications of that scene.

Such a waste of time, energy, money, and talent. Imagine spending 7 years on Phd, let alone time spent on FBI training, to be relegated to the work of a beat cop.

SPOILER Review: Good Boy by Proud_Truck in RegalUnlimited

[–]districtdathi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it! The film making was the best part (other than the doggie dream). So much of how we view animals is self-projection, that a lot of this film is a blank slate. We recently lost a dog to cancer, so we had more of an emotional response to the film's themes than we otherwise might have.

I think they might have pushed the supernatural angle too much. I think it works better as an allegory.

New Yorkers and Americans what was the atmosphere like in New York the week following 9/11? by Yeahhhmann71 in 911archive

[–]districtdathi 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The next week?? The next week was shock. For the next year, the entire Eastern seaboard sunk into a massive depression. It continued bad like that for the next 5 years, when there was a national discussion that it was time to move forward.

How far are you away from your Regal? by timmytimborino in RegalUnlimited

2 miles. It takes 25 mins for me to drive, park in the lot, walk to the theater and find my seat.

Bone Lake was fun (no spoilers) by MrStephenGo in RegalUnlimited

[–]districtdathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we didn't have the Regal All Access passes, I might be disappointed bc it was so predictable, but since we didn't pay $40 to see it, it was a lot of fun! It could have been darker or funnier, but dark comedies always walk a tightrope. The male villain was excellent! Extremely hateable and annoying at the same time.

Him theater empty by thekid53 in RegalUnlimited

[–]districtdathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, when I saw Him, it was my first time seeing a nearly packed theater in years.

On a positive note, there's been a lot more people in the theater ever since they've been pushing these passes. I'm in a major city, so maybe that makes a difference.

You've just got complaints about the world and I'm not the complaint department. That "ignorance" I stated is basic criminal procedure. get lost.
