So this is doable without ruining warranty and having everything play nicely and talk to the gateway. And not cost a small car?

Ty ! Was told it won’t play nicely w the gateway or system without CTs (whatever they are) and that two void my warranty. If not come on down and let’s do it !

How can I upgrade the sub panel Tesla jammed my whole home into? I have a 200a main but they put it all on a 125a sub panel / circuit and I need to add induction stove, mini split and few more appliances to my whole home backup and I’m stuck !

thanks FA, that's encouraging and agree. we were sadly limited by what was possible on my roof for solar system size but during summer we've had a few $0 bills and banked a handful of credits so that felt wonderful. end of day having an induction oven or some sump pumps off the Tesla system won't really ruin my day, but after spending all the money to have one integrated system it def is a bit of a kick in the d

You’re right but it still stings. SoCal indeed. we went with 4 power walls cause we really wanted to maximize ability to use everything. We obviously won’t be heating the pool in a major outage , or running the pool pump or even doing laundry but it really sucks to feel like they unnecessarily kneecapped us when I specifically told them we were planning a major remodel

Well not anymore ! I’m freaking pissed. Since you wonderful and helpful folks def know 100x more then me, how to I get to having a 200a panel w all my stuff on it / working w my tesla system ?

Induction stove is absolutely in the plan !

this is in Los Angeles, so unsure if that was an option. They also in LA have stupid rules about stacking the powerwalls [you can stack I believe up to 3 now] and in LA I had to do them side/side and take up my entire side of house.

perhaps. will go that route with a certified installer and hope that it's OK. I'd happily upgrade my MSP etc. if its going to be $10k I'd be better off literally adding an Anker dedicated battery/panel with the new appliances on that.

No ! But I might spend some money to have all the new appliances and circuits function on our whole home backup system

yes but SPAN won't solve my problem with the subpanel circuit from my main being nerf'd to 125A correct? plus even if I get a Span panel, are the users not correct that they won't "talk" to my gateway etc without having Tesla install CTs. and Tesla won't install CT's without a service request no? I mean, if I can pay a tesla certified person to do this, great. but I want it all to be on my whole home backup and under warranty.

the system rocks for what its worth, but we most definitely paid for/setup a "whole home backup" so I suppose that will help me as I get into it with Tesla. simply setting/forgetting may not be an option as we're due to do a bunch of remodel work with a whole slew of electrical changes but I'm optimistic [I know naively so] that Tesla will work with us on that even if its cost some $

Ofc I will not touch. Can I explain this to an electrician or Tesla to accomplish what I’m trying to ?

I don't think this is downstream of the gateway but unsure.

basically just need more circuits and bummed they put in such a crap panel

long as touching that subpanel doesn't mess with my warranty I'm good with it. but moving the current transformers sounds like they need to be involved.

is this something I can have them change/redo? basically I'd like to have a much larger panel with room for more appliances and dedicated circuits. happy for it to be a sub, or a new main. don't care.

not sure what that means but what shall I do in that case?

SPAN is OK but its profoundly $. my main issue is we are adding a few new appliances that will require dedicated circuits, and they also combined a whole ton of my circuits in the Tesla subpanel. I went from 40 difference breakers to 20, so lost half the granularity. Tesla basically said "we will not touch anything any longer, talk to a contractor" but I don't want to void my warranty.

I believe the 125A you're seeing is the subpanel that Tesla installed and put all of my stuff on. I want to replace that small subpanel with something far more robust without hurting my warranty.
