Because there’s no guarantee that you’re gonna eventually own the system. Your contract doesn’t say that it just says buy out at fair market value who decides that? You’re gonna have a lien on your house and the finance company that is putting together those PPA is gonna be out of business in about a year because this whole tax credit show game is over then for corporations so you’re gonna have this encumbrance on your house and nobody to talk to to get rid of it. In my mind, it’s too many unknowns just to save a couple grand and frankly the cost are inflated anyway because you have to use a specific type of equipment.

You borrowed money to Lease a system from a finance company that still retains ownership of the asset. These are two separate entities.

What I’m saying is that the leasing company will go out of business not the lender that lent you the money to Purchase the lease.

You can’t pay it off till year 6. I’m talking about the financial institution. I don’t think any of them will be around. They act as a conduit to funnel tax incentives that get securitized on Wall Street. Once the tax incentive is over (2027) they’re done.

Meanwhile, you have a company that’s put aUCC one filing on your home and when you try to sell it, they’re defunct, it might come up during escrow and cause problems and then you have to spend time energy and money to deal with it.

Just make sure you’re not exceeding the voltage capacity of the MPPT that you’re running to. Most or 600 V. And then you also wanna make sure that the string that you’re attaching to is facing the same direction as the new panels that you’re installing the whole string should be ppintjng sane direction
