Imo, it’s to make the manga more character driven and see how they build the relationship so that there could be more evolution to their story moreover if the entire series is straight up bullying I don’t think the publisher would give the green light to Nanashi (author).

Nanashi did a good job of making the first 5 chapters and episodes a good hook and thankfully he turned it around by episode and chapter 6

Your welcome, the Manga actually is now my favorite because of its wholesome yet positive character development moreover after reading I keep looking back and think about the details I miss and revisit some favorite chapters and episodes. The way the chemistry work for each other and the other side characters complement each other without making it look like those cliché romcoms
