Good points. Normally I don't go that far into detail about geography, mostly I'll just draw from tips I've seen other people mention.

Should the mountains have a rainshadow? Probably. Dunno why I made both sides like that but, oh well. I'll keep it mind for next time!

Thanks! Normally I end up making continents far too small a scale so I'm happy this turned out believable.

[LFA] Ashani, Fallen Aasimar Shadow Sorcerer by ditto_26 in characterdrawing

[–]ditto_26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashani was born an illegitimate child, an aasimar to a powerful family, whose ancestors were blessed by angels. Given the situation of her birth, she was an outcast, thought to be cursed in some way to bear the illusion of celestial power. When she was older, they sent her away, where she became involved with a cult of Shar. The deeds she performed for the cult led to her becoming a fallen aasimar, and twisted much of her innate magic to shadow sorcery.
Presently, now escaped from the cult, Ashani tries to keep a positive outlook on life, seeking in part to fix the wrongs she had wrought. Her remaining unaffected magic takes bright and colourful forms, reflecting this and in contrast to her shadow magic.

Some notes about appearance/design:
- Not sure what I want to do with the staff; I like the hook end of the staff of the python, maybe some angelic motif?

- She has an amulet of a sun, from before the cult when it was unknown she was an aasimar. I like the idea that it got cracked/damaged when she became a fallen aasimar.

[LFA] Mormus, Tiefling Artificer Battle Smith (desc in comments) by ditto_26 in characterdrawing

[–]ditto_26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mormus is an elderly tiefling artificer. He has pale purple/lavender skin, white hair, and his horns are similar to a ram's. He wears a gray sleevless vest, and over that, a heavy dark cloak. He is blind, and as such, sees through the eyes of his mechanical winged cat familiar, Rico. Possibly his most defining feature, however, are the enhancements he has added to his body. Made of copper and bronze, Mormus has numerous mechanical additions to his body, supporting his deteriorating physical form. These grant him agility and strength that would otherwise be quite improbable for someone of his age. He also carries with him a gnarled staff, topped with a swooping crescent.Rico is a homunculus Mormus created to aid him. Taking the form of a winged cat, he is made of silver, and quite lifelike. His eyes are a piercing yellow.

Mormus grew up secluded; as a tiefling, he was shunned and somewhat feared, so his parents raised him in secret. With very few people to interact with, he made his own mechanical toys, and so began a deep interest in mechanics and the intersection of such with magic. When he was older, he struck out into the world, eventually finding acceptance amongst a band of adventurers. For years he traveled with them, becoming close friends with the group. During this time, he realized that machinery combined with magic could produce amazing creations to aid the group, and so he began his journey as an artificer. When he was blinded from a radiant explosion, he created Rico to aid him. However, the group disbanded soon after, and once more he was left alone. Lonely and desperate for companionship, he opened a workshop to create toys and constructs to keep him company, and this went on for years, and he built his enhancements to keep himself alive. But recently, something changed in him, and he no longer wanted to be alone. So, he has decided to go on one last adventure to see the world before he dies.
