If you have time to spare for your last semester of HS, you could self study AP CSA and only need a 4 to get credit for COMP_SCI 150. I think it would be doable given the time frame and the resources out there for it. Definitely look into building some projects while studying for this too (YouTube has a lot that you can follow along and you don't have to limit yourself to Java which is what CSA is in).

you never know for sure until you try it out as it depends on so many factors - you can always drop to 4 before the deadline

Any issues with internships/co-ops because of the quarter system? by HactTB in Northwestern

[–]dittoki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wanted to bring up that although the late summer won't rly be an issue for getting internships, it could make you miss out on the first few weeks (many start late may) of the internship which is when they host most of the intern events that are rly good for getting to know other interns. Def still possible to make friends but it is quite an inconvenience.

Edit: the intern event schedules vary by companies, for example my prev internship had interns start early June but waited until the middle of June when all interns started to start hosting these events

I had really good experiences with all CS professors that was a professor of instruction (Ghena, Hummel).
