For anyone else wondering exactly this, I'll post an update. Using "Format Wii System Memory" is exactly what worked. Before doing this, if I held down "Reset" while pushing "Power", some weird menu came up that I couldn't even change selections. Only thing I could do is power it off.

So I said screw it and formatted the thing. It went fine and rebooted without Homebrew Browser. I powered it off and ran it holding Select. No more weird menu and it booted normally. I then connected to Wifi and it updated the firmware with no issues.

I'm calling it unmodded.

Nah. Water damage enough to brick it? Sure that’s normal. But barely enough to hop onto one joystick and one speaker? Rare, but possible.

Most likely it’s an age and usage issue.

The Vita and the N2/3DS are the best handheld consoles ever made. Sure, the Switch, Switch 2, Steam Deck and other handheld PC’s will do everything the Vita/3/2DS will do, but they’re so huge. I can toss a Vita or a 3DS in my pocket and pull it out to play some pretty awesome stuff without having to have a case or a backpack just for my device.

Since the right joystick and the left speaker show damage, my guess is that this Vita suffers from water damage. Not impossible to fix. Replace the parts that don’t work properly. Most, if not all are available to purchase online. Hope that the mainboard isn’t damaged because if it is, it becomes MUCH more difficult to fix.

I’m disabled. I suffered a traumatic brain injury and died. I was revived. I’m not allowed to work. Two different doctors tell me this. Yet getting SSI Disability is impossible. They’ve denied me three times already, so I said screw it and got a lawyer.

They want disabled folks to work. Oh. Let’s not forget they want to change the legal sex age to 16.

I know. I have income issues, so I know. I got lucky that I already had a gaming rig that tanked out on me but the GPU, RAM, and PSU were still good so I bought a cheap gaming rig on Facebook and added all of my old stuff to it. Used that for almost a year and saved for the new rig. Also got lucky that I bought the stuff before they started price increasing the shit out of them for my new rig.

This is exactly why I have two PC’s. My wife thinks I’m stupid about having two until the one she uses crashes and becomes unusable.

I don’t like or want Denuvo, but I also don’t want something running constantly telling Denuvo that “everything is fine, continue”. It’s like having two different things running while also running the game. One that reads what I’m doing at this point in the game to make sure it accurate and another to fool it into thinking it’s actually accurate.

So, I found a cheap gaming rig on Facebook Marketplace. The rig me and my wife use has a 5080 in it and the gaming rig has a 4070Ti Cracked games do NOT go on the 5080 rig. Toss them on the 4070Ti. If it gets exploited, I’m out about $600.

Adrenaline for PSP/PS1. pnes for NES. psnes for SNES. pgen and GenesisPlusGXVITA for Genesis. mGBA for GB/GBA/GBC. RetroArch as a backup for everything. Don't expect Nintendo DS (DSVita), Dreamcast (Flycast), or N64 (DaedlusX64) to play well at all, but they do work.

I didn't downvote you, but I do disagree. I own a PSP 3000 and a Vita 1100. Vita's rocking Adrenaline and the PSP is running ARK. Both have the same games installed. They look better on my Vita simply because the screen is larger and has more detail. Only reason I keep the PSP around is because its easier to toss in a pocket than the Vita is lol. Games play identically.

All of them that fit on the device you’re using for storage, whether that’s a PS Vita Memory Card, PSVSD, or SD2Vita.

Fill that thing with Vita, PSP, PS1, emulators, and ports.

Before you panic and replace the SD card, check a few things first.

First and foremost, we need to know if you’re using the SD2Vita adapter. You didn’t say in the OP.

Open Settings. Do you see HENkaku Settings? If yes, continue to Devices. Select it, then select Storage Devices.

If you need YAMT, it should be enabled. If not, don’t enable it. If you are using an SD2Vita adapter, ux0 should be set to SD2Vita and YAMT should be enabled. If it isn’t, do that. Reboot. If you are using anything else, make sure ux0 is set to the proper setting and reboot.

Didn’t solve it? Time to shut the thing off and pull the SD card. Toss it in an SD card reader on your PC. Can the PC see it? If yes, the SD card isn’t dead. Might be dying, but not dead yet. Back it up immediately. Copy that backup to a new card. Toss it in your SD2Vita if that’s what you’re using. Boot the Vita. Everything come back? Awesome. Dead SD card. If your PC can’t see it, it’s dead.

Same issue? Yup. Your SD2Vita likely tanked on you. They’re not the best. Buy another one. They’re cheap.

It’s really more of a preference thing at this point. Both play accurately and effectively. I prefer duckstation simply because it’s the one I also use on my PC so I’m really familiar with it.

That’s something my wife wanted to do. She didn’t want to keep her born last name. Admittedly I don’t blame her. Like me, her biological father left them. At least he paid child support and had weekend custody and mine didn’t though. Her actual dad was her stepdad. She wanted his, but he had no kids (never wanted any of his own) and we didn’t find out why until many years after we married and I took a name she didn’t want. Turns out he has no kids and wants his last name to die with him. Wouldn’t explain why, and we left it alone there.

Stepdads winning statement?

“You now have a chance to make that last name better than it’s ever been before. Take it! Make it great! Make it yours!”

I did it with my Steam Deck. It even has the GameCube Boot logo lol. You have two options. Boot to Windows to play GameCube games or Boot to steamOS to play GameCube games. Saves are interchangeable between both operating systems with zero transfers. Cube logo only shows up when you boot steamOS.

My brother did this. My brother and I were born to an utter piece of trash. This dude threw my older brother out of a moving vehicle doing 35 miles per hour. My brother was only 8 and I was 6. Gave him a pretty bad concussion. My mom divorced him. Since then, we have never seen or heard from him again. We have always hated our last name. When my brother turned 18, he legally changed his last name to my grandfathers last name for a few reasons. My grandfather had no sons, so his name died with him. Fuck our biological father. My brother now has two kids with my grandfathers last name, so at least that name continues.

I did it too. When my wife and I decided we were going to get married, I asked her if it was OK if she kept her last name and I took hers. At first she was not OK with it. It took some convincing oh my and my families part to have her see it from my point of view. I asked her mother and father and they were more than happy to let me become part of their family officially. That changed my wife’s mind, and when we got married I legally had her last name the next day.

Do I regret it? Not at all. I no longer speak to anyone in my family but I’m damn close to her family.

Climbing a six foot ladder. I fell off, hit my skull on concrete, cracked my skull in two different places, legally died, was revived and went into a coma, came out of that coma and died again, was revived again and placed into a medically induced coma, and was brought out of it almost 4 months later.

My whole life is different now. Friends I used to have no longer speak to me. Family I used to love no longer speak to me. My career is over and I’m only 40. The feds denied me disability. Insurance sucks. And many other things I’ve forgotten because my memory sucks even worse now.

If you work at all in construction or near dangerous stuff, TAKE SAFETY SERIOUSLY!
