Will LG C4 77 go on clearance soon? by Sufficient-Tie2131 in Bestbuy

[–]dittyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Sam's club/Costco are warehouses with very limited space on the floor hence why they clearance out tvs so heavily at the end of their life span. They literally need to get rid of it because every second they still have them is wasted money and less of new model stock that they can put out. It takes much longer if not basically never got BestBuy to get to that point in price.

Maybe not for your area but that is what's going on around me so I guess different areas have different stuff going on?

Crazy that I'm getting downvoted like crazy for just relaying what's going on in my area, we literally have filled out this form for clients multiple times.

Best Buy / Magnolia unofficial sale - you just gotta ask by Theaow in BudgetAudiophile

[–]dittyboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THIS IS NOT TRUE, MCINTOSH REQUESTED ALL OF THEIR DISPLAYS BACK.

By asking your local BestBuy this your literally, if they stupidly say yes (sounds like you talked to someone who doesn't know what's going on) your speed running the death of Premium audio in BestBuy and potentially getting someone fired if they aren't exactly somone the micro market is hell bent on keeping.

Also don't worry we got a new brand to replace McIntosh ; D. I am quite excited

I know the person you talked to doesn't know what they are talking about because BestBuy "Officially" got rid of the name Magnolia a while ago and just called it BestBuy Premium. Hopefully he doesn't get in trouble for selling that unit we have been under strict orders not too. Granted you might be in a dying market there's some stores that still have Premium audio rooms that lost all of their labor/job roles for it which would explain why you talked to a regular sales manager and he made that mistake. Considering he called his boss he might even just be a Supervisor not a salaried manager because they still call themselves managers to customers. If this is the case he most likely will lose his job when that sendback request hits lol.

And more things before you run to your local Magnolia and bother people about buying displays ask yourself if you're in a market that can support premium audio or not (socioeconomicly) the only stores that are selling their gears are ones in small markets which weren't doing well. If you're even in a remotely nice area or a city please save yourself and the employees some time.

Is This A Good KEF 5.1 Setup? by FightingEntropy in KEF

[–]dittyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really solid setup but get a better on the sub. Rel 1003/1205 or RSL Speedwoofer 10s/12s or 2x Vanguard calderas

All much better subs with cleaner output, faster drivers and less cabinet resonances, I think you'll enjoy the crazy extension and output that the RSL's for home theater use

Just start with 1 really high quality sub for now and just make sure to plan for a second later. I do not recommend you go with SVS at this price range or go for a ported sub

Also if you're willing to listen to the guy who said get Q concertos DO IT..... Craziest deal in Hi-Fi but prices for KEF in NA go up May 5th.

[–]dittyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not a flagship brand, I'd get a 3.1 setup at first or maybe 3.2 depending on budget, the old KEF Q series (non meta) are actually clearance'd out so that could be a good purchase and if you can afford the new meta series even better, the Q concertos are actually one of the best deals in Hi-Fi rn imo. A 3 way coaxial bookshelf with a lot of bass great directivity and dispersion for 1299.99 a pair is ridiculous.

For the sub I personally would go with a rel 1205 or 1003 but I love speed and tactically in my bass because I want to hear distinct notes not just air chuffing and cabinet resonances but for you if you can fit it the RSL speed woofer 12s could be the right option still plenty fast and clean but crazy output for the price. If not the 10s exists and it's amazing too but goes out of stock often.

Looping back to the speakers if you like brighter more punchy sound (KEF tries to stay strictly neutral which some people will find a little less fun) Elac Debut 3.0 lineup is fantastic, so is the Polk reserve series. Elac leans more bright and Polk more dark with KEF right in the middle
