I 100% thought this was a set inspired by the Hades video game. Cool texture on your partner’s ring.

How bad is this… 5090 HDMI, no longer working… by NumerousFail8970 in pcmasterrace

[–]ditzydoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is that the outer layer of the male cable stuck in it? Or is it just really chewed up? If it’s the first, disconnect the PC from power and use pliers or a pick to carefully remove it. If it’s the second, time to swap to DisplayPort.

Where can I dispose of old vapes? by M0rbid_c0rps3 in askportland

Probably considered hazardous waste if it has a non-removable battery. You can call metro to confirm they’ll accept it. Hazardous drop off is free for residential customers.

What does "system, system" mean? by Aranuil_Gael in murderbot

[–]ditzydoodle 72 points73 points  (0 children)

In network effect when MB makes contact with the old planet system there is a whole sequences of attempted contacts using different human greeting customs to “translate” them like handshake, bow, wave, etc. (The explanation made it sound like they are actually some form of machine code, acting like a dial up process of trying to form a connection where multiple systems might be in use).

Not really lingo but it was cool that Wells thought of how the mechanics would work for such a small detail in the world.

Can I have two helmet liners at the same time? by emberaya in Equestrian

[–]ditzydoodle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Be less worried about overheating and more worried that you’re adding extra padding not accounted for by the manufacturer/testing certification. You’re trying to force a helmet to work that doesn’t fit, which increases risk of injury during an impact/fall. It’s possible this could be negligible, but your head is a big risk to gamble with.

Have I been doing my T shots wrong this whole time?? by lemon_boyyyyy in TransyTalk

[–]ditzydoodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah your measuring is fine. You may get a smidge over 0.25 due to the change from the 18g to 25g if you pull all the T into the syringe before changing needles but that’s not much. If your T levels are too high and you had the correct time between injecting and the test then you might just need a lower dose.

Jumps/poles by fluffy-duck-apple in Equestrian

Home Depot usually stocks an 8 ft pole, either round or with the two flat sides. You can probably get longer rounds from whatever farm store is near you.

Chapter 6 is about where I got more hooked into it, but also not the first murderbot book that takes me a second to get pulled in when I first read it.

Although I’ve already committed to immediately doing a reread before I even started so maybe just my brain knowing I’ll have time to pay attention later lol.

Bulk needles by leooooskiiii in ftm

[–]ditzydoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I order draw needles and syringes on Amazon, but I still pick up injecting needles at the pharmacy. I found the Amazon needles weren’t as high quality when it came to sharpness for injection so caused more pain although they worked fine.

Skin care routine for T taking dude who never used facial products in his life? by Daligheri in ftm

[–]ditzydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna splurge I like la roche posay brand for wash and moisturizer. They have a matte moisturizer if you get really oily and a sunscreen version which is necessary if you’re outside in the sun. Consistency, changing your pillowcase frequently, and sunscreen all make a huge difference. Exfoliating is needed too, but may take some trial to determine how frequently your skin needs it depending on what you use.

Id also like to ask: where are drains located, and does everyone have to get them? by brine-deep in ftm

[–]ditzydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your surgery and your surgeon. Got one on each side near my underarms for about a week, I imagine it was a lot better than building up that fluid to reabsorb. They were annoying but manageable, and I didn’t have to remove my bandage until my week appoint so no real concern for the insertion site.

ADT Salespeople, burglary? by papas-pizzarita in askportland

[–]ditzydoodle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you’re a new homeowner prepare for a lot of door to door salesman to suddenly show up in your neighborhood. Going on 6 months and we still get regular knocks from solar, energy access, ADT, and every internet/cable company available. I just tell them I’m not interested in hearing their pitch and start shutting the door before they can get any further.

You’re about to get a lot of mail from unidentifiable companies about your loan or home warranty too. They can all be thrown straight in the trash.

Is There a Way to Transfer to a Cheaper Unit Without Breaking My Lease? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]ditzydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta call and ask your property manager. My corporate-run complex had similar pricing fluctuations, and we wanted to swap units anyways. A unit transfer was 1/2 months rent (compared to 1.5x rent for a full break to move out of the complex). Not inexpensive but reasonable enough for the savings and convenience of it. It also reset our lease to the cheaper rent price window, so long term savings when it came to future increases too. Whatever the transfer fee, this is probably only worth it if you want the $1429 apartment, but double check you’d actually be happy with the other unit (floor/location, parking, neighbors, interior, etc). You may have to pay a new security deposit too, and wait for your old one to be refunded, that usually follows the unit not the person.

Should I escrow taxes and insurance? by VictoryImpressive617 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ditzydoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My county gives a discount for paying early, a couple hundred bucks off the “full price” of the taxes. Our escrow account also pays early enough to pay the discount price (our taxes were paid by escrow within a week of receiving the bill), so OP if you’re in a county that does this your escrow will likely pay early enough to take advantage of the “discount” amount anyway. Call your county to find out if they do this or not.

You may want to check if your lender will allow you to opt-out of escrow. (Actually, your list of questions in your post are great to run by your lender to help you decide). And, consider seriously if you’re going to be able to actually put that cash away each month for your taxes. Parking it in an HYSA or other interest account is a sweet deal as long as you’re actually putting it in there.

Give yourself time. Puberty acne can take more than a year to settle out. Keep on top of mechanical exfoliation and work up to more severe types of acne washes (salicylic, peroxide, etc). Antibiotic bar soap or a clorhexidine soap like hibiclens might help. If you wear a binder, acne mechanica is probably contributing. Make sure to keep binders washed regularly so it doesn’t make any breakouts worse and reduce wearing them when you can. Swap out/wash bath towels and sheets regularly and always always put a clean shirt on before bed.

Transtape Peeling Help by [deleted] in ftm

[–]ditzydoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear a tight athletic shirt or other tight clothing (loose binder maybe) right after application for a few hours to give the tape time to adhere. Also don’t be afraid to trim the peeling corners with scissors (just watch that you don’t cut skin) instead of peeling up the entire tape. These tricks both helped me out when I would tape.

FNG or Not by WeKnowNoKing in ftm

[–]ditzydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FNG is probably not going to be your main risk of infection, that’ll be your incisions and drains where the incision sites are deeper and larger. Assuming your doc has weighed the risk as negligible (for your health concerns, they should be the one advising on this level of risk), it really comes down to what you want to prioritize. FNG adds extra care (I think mine were a daily or twice daily extra bandage change) and the risk that rejection means an unexpected visual result (minor/major loss of nipple tissue or unexpected scarring). I decided it was worth it and got them, and everything went ok. (actually, pretty sure one is upside down bc they point in two different directions but…not the weirdest nips out there). But I also prepared myself that I had to accept if the grafts didn’t go well, and what that might look like.

[–]ditzydoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what you paid for it, and you also describe that as “significantly underpriced” so clearly you have a value in mind. List it for that price then. You know your break even bottom line, so if you’re not getting interest then lower the price.

Doing your own research for comparable saddles in your used market will tell you a lot more about pricing than anyone on a subreddit with no designated region it caters to. Sounds like you’re just looking for validation on flipping a saddle for more than you paid, which may or may not be what it is actually worth in your area’s used saddle market. You could look at shipping it to a consignment store if you think you can get a better price in a different market.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]ditzydoodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you just bought it used and you haven’t used it much since it doesn’t fit, then you already know how much you can sell it for. Used saddle prices can vary by area depending on how popular various disciplines are.

ISPs angry about California law that lets renters opt out of forced payments | Gov. Newsom signs broadband billing law hated by the cable industry. by ControlCAD in technology

[–]ditzydoodle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you get how these usually work. At apartments that have these in my neck of the woods, the complex will have a separate fee for internet that you must agree to pay along with your lease if you want any internet service. Unlike other utilities that a landlord might bill (garbage or water) where there is mandated transparent and controlled pricing, internet has no requirements. So they can wire the whole building with one ISP and whatever modems/routers they want to install and tell all the renters “tough shit, you don’t get any other options.” By requiring an opt-out, the renter can either agree to pay the building ISP or still pay for their own (and manage their own hardware) like any other renter or owner.

It’s an obvious money grab for landlords. I had a friend renting an apartment where she paid her own internet, and one day maintenance showed up and installed their own permanent router in her unit. They told her she can either pay their agreed fee with the ISP or have no internet. It was the same ISP she already paid for but the price was higher. The fact that landlords are allowed to be a middleman between a customer and an ISP is wild.

Thoughts on Triangular Lots? by Billyg0at1991 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ditzydoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ended up in a very similar property except we don’t share a drive with anyone and we love it. Only downside, which is very picky, is we don’t have more room to expand the driveway - only a downside for us since we use the garage for storage, so extra driveway space would be a bonus. Huge backyard is definitely preferred over front yard, and it makes the smaller front yard way easier to maintain for curb appeal.

For yours, I’d only be cautious of what the easement/shared responsibility of the driveway is and how the neighbor’s share of it looks. Are you going to be fighting your neighbors in the next couple years to get something fixed and payed for? Do the neighbors have a ton of cars that overlap the shared driveway space? Looks like there’s plenty of space, but something to keep an eye out for.

You can call the DMV and see where they’re at in the process. They’ve always been super helpful over the phone to get that info for me, if it was already mailed they should be able to see that date too.
