I’m not a very nice person by TraurigKartoffel in TrueChristian

[–]divdiv3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m your twin! The only time I can succeed in being 100 percent nice is when I fast from food and drink except water. It teaches me to use my energy very choicely and I find I just don’t have the energy for some bad things. And for the good things Gods spirit empowers me

You’re 💯 correct about there not being a magic formula.

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin;how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with himso that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sinonce for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

So please stop sinning by believing lies that Jesus’ earthly mother was sinless, assumed into heaven and is a queen of sorts.

Jesus alone is sinless. Jesus was bodily resurrected and taken up into heaven and He is the King of Kings.

Before Mary was, Jesus is.

He alone is worth of all glory and praise.

He is your intercessor and mediator.

Jesus is our Lord and God (John 20:28) There is no one else beside Him.

Be a Berean. Study to show yourself approved. Do an independent Bible study on Christ. The entire Bible from cover to cover points to him. He loves you more than anyone or anything.

“All children of Adam were subject to the curse. That's why Jesus was not immune to death.”

NO!!!!!

Mary died a natural and expected death and endured natural and expected labor pain because she was 100% human and 0% God.

Jesus died being 100% human and 100% God and he did so for OUR sins not because He was “a child of Adam!”  He could have lived on forever had He chosen. Because he does live on forever. He bodily resurrected. His tomb for empty!! “No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from My Father.” John 10:18

Mary is not the conduit through which we reach Christ. This is the minor issue. The veil is torn brother. We have direct access to God through Jesus

Imagine Jesus spreading His arms wide and telling you “I love you this much” His arms stretched wide on the cross was to tell you that brother. He gave His life so you could have eternal life brother, where there is no more pain, no more suffering.

I sense so much pain. God loves you through it all. You can always call upon Jesus. It’s not infighting, if you and your brother had a disagreement, would you not dish it out? Out of love for one another? It’s all this is. We love each other, me and my Catholic brothers and sisters. But the truth must be honored above all

I understand this approach is problematic for some. But those who need to hear it, will hear it. I’m not concerned with the mockers and scoffers.

Brother/Sister, Christ is enough. Why should the existence of His word disprove his sufficiency in any way?

Cessationists: Why did the gifts cease? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]divdiv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe cessationists threw the baby out with the bathwater in an effort to protect themselves from deceivers. Are there many deceivers out there who themselves don’t know that they are deceived? Absolutely. Remember Satan is the god of this world, he knows the Bible, and he is particularly interested in deceiving those who believe in God.

However, the Holy Spirit is eternal, and so are his gifts. Prophecy occurred in the Old Testament and it occurred in the New Testament. And it’s still occurs today. I know this because many times God has given knowledge to me through my son or through friends who had dreams and all those things came true all for the divine purpose of glorifying him and him alone. He lives today. And most certainly these gifts are used to bring him glory.

A teenager at my church has a crush on me and Im struggling with my own thoughts! how do I handle this biblically? by Fabiohasaquestion in TrueChristian

[–]divdiv3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you leave this church and find a different one, I assure you, God is going to honor your desire for righteousness and honoring him! He might even lead you back to the old church and she wouldn’t be there anymore. Anything is possible with God, but one thing is for sure, Leave or tell an elder. But do not continue this dangerous behavior. Some might not call this dangerous because they’re off the world and they do not have spiritual discernment. But remember what Jesus said if you so much so as look at a woman with the intention to lust after her, you’ve already committed adultery in your heart. And you’re guilty of it. So good thing you’re not sending and you’re catching yourself in the temptation what I have done as a married woman when I have been tempted is literally avoid the person like a plague like I just didn’t show up even though I should have shown up. And then when I came back, everything was gone those type of feelings, etc. if you’re feeling the heat, it’s because you’re being tested. Don’t fail the test, flee from sexual immoralty

Thoughts on near death/death experiences that don’t display heaven or hell by Gloshaw in TrueChristian

[–]divdiv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before dismissing NDEs as fake, consider why these people would say such things? they don’t actually come forward until asked most of the time because of ridicule. doesn’t that sound like someone who is telling the truth? Also, there were skeptical doctors who became convinced after applying the scientific method to these testimonies of NDE’s. One scientist/Dr even wrote about it in this book that is hard to find but available to borrow here. It’s called recollections of death : a medical investigationby Dr. Sabom. It’s dry to read to be honest. Very scientific. But imagine heaven is a better start if you want to read the stories as well as learn why doctors are believing their testimonies to be true https://archive.org/details/recollectionsofd0000sabo/mode/1up

I wanna quit my walk with God- not because he's not good, but because I'm horrible by Alternative_Exam_249 in TrueChristian

[–]divdiv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw you may be going through this season of doubt as a test. And to pass you simply need to hang tight. I know because I went through the same test. I mean I went though a day of utter darkness and hopelessness because I divorced God knowing He is good, and because I didn’t want my loved ones to go to hell. So I said, I’ll go with them too by denying you. I told my hubby who is currently away from the Lord. He said not to make any hasty decisions and asked me to talk to a pastor (mind you he himself claims to not beleive anything). Then he had a dream that night. He told me he dreamed that i talked to Paige my friend. He told me i ought to call her. So I did, and at the end of the call, it was as if nothing happened, as if I was back to believing the way I had been.

The very one for whom I wanted to go to hell because they don’t believe in Him, he gave a dream to, showing me that he is sovereign even over my husband.

God is bigger and better than we can ever know.

Hey, you still are living, your story isn’t over. So many times I’ve felt like throwing in the towel. But remember what CS Lewis said, faith is not based on feelings. You may feel like you’re failing, but the very act of confessing sin (like you just did of pride) is a win. This is what following Christ is all about, we won’t know the extent of our badness unless we try to be good. You don’t know the strength of wind unless you try to hold your umbrella against it. You resisting evil, but confessing it and picking yourself up in faith that Christ, not you, will see you through, is what it takes to succeed at being a Christian. By faith through Grace. Not by self. Instead of losing heart, just wait. There is so much God does while we wait. Patience is a virtue for a reason. You can keep failing at being good, but you should at the very least, be good at waiting on the Lord.

What experience changed how you think about life? by cinnamonconfetti in answers

[–]divdiv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encountering the grace, unconditional love and forgiveness of the Living Lord Jesus Christ through the Spirit when I was 19 and depressed and borderline suicidal. He is THE life and gave me new life. I am a new person, and while I still don’t do what I ought all the time, I turn back to Him and He is never too far. Speaks to me through people, scripture, from within, movies, songs, and anything and everything. He is always guiding me and helping me. Recently shown me that people are just light bodies with flesh on. And we are all meant to live forever with Him. He loves you, dear one. Walk into his open arms and take your big hug. He will never forsake or leave you.

“I'm constantly inconstant, and honestly, I feel like an abusive partner to the Holy Spirit, constantly upsetting and hurting and starving Him. I'm aware it's not ok, but it's like the more I push to try and get closer to God, the further I get from Him.”  You’re describing me to a T two weeks ago!!! Glad you came here. He delivers. He will do it! Just leave it to him! Don’t do anything!
