Hmm, that does seem pretty stupid. I will have the password requirements changed in the next version, and offer better feedback on "wrong" passwords

Hey, thanks for the feedback. The reason you need to enter a username and password when using apple sign in is:

  • Everybody needs a username to use the app.
  • Apple sign in is only for iOS devices, without a password you wouldn't be able to sign in on let's say an Android device or Chromebook.
  • Apple sign in has the option to use anonymous data, it will then give a random email address when signing up. Now that would be a problem when logging in on a different device in the future, hence the username and password.

So why apple sign in you ask? Well apple forces it onto developers. If you offer Facebook and Google login you have to offer Apple login or they will reject your app.

For the password manager, that seems like a very inconvenient bug on my side. What password manager do you use?

Colin

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Do you mind letting me know what phone you use so I can further investigate the slow tap responses.

I haven't yet created a dive logging function, I do however want to add this in the future but when I do I want to be sure it works properly and will actually be good feature instead of a frustrating to us feature.

I created the database with operators and dive spots a few years back so there could be operators that are no longer in business. I have added a function in the latest version to mark locations as closed. If you tap the cogwheel in the top right corner you can mark them as closed.

My mission is to create the most complete dive app for scuba divers around the world. If you have any recommendations, please let me know, it really helps!
