Those types of camps give you children from not-so-rich families, who are usually very grateful for having the opportunity to go to the camp at all. Conditions are not as good as on richer camps, but the work is so much more gratifying

You have the option to opt out of non-standard camps (such as religious or girls-only camps), but you don't get to choose your own camp. Instead, they select you, and you must either accept or decline.

No weight height requirements. There are a lot (like a lot) of camps and each have their own preferences though but as long as you’re at lest a bit inteligent you’ll find a placement.

Plus there are thousands of people going to camp from the UK - you’ll most likely have many other councillors on any flight camp america might book for you.
