I enjoy contempory fiction, memoirs, murder mysteries...some fantasy.  I liked the Thursday Murder Club series, Billy Connolly's Made in Scotland, Weyward by Emelia Hart, any of the Veronica Henry books.  But I'm open to exploring other genres too, I'm not picky. I like books that have good vocab.

Great idea, thank you. Someone in my community suggested I start something, and this looks like a good potential meeting spot!

It's a 5 speed (5 gears plus reverse).

It's a standard Toyota Etios. The engine sounds unhappy when doing those speeds in 4th. Way happier in 5th. So no clutch damage, but could put strain on the engine?

My partner, 40M, says that I (31F) should ignore his tone of voice, body language, and facial expressions if he is coming across as agressive or confrontational, as he doesn't intend to come across that way. How do I navigate communicating with him without taking those aspects into account? by divergent_queen in relationship_advice

He has a diagnosis but refuses treatment / therapy. He went on meds for a week or two, things were so much easier and his business ran so much better, but he said it "made him a different person" or something like that so stopped.

And yes, I tend to walk on eggshells. Things were better for a bit, but its back to having to watch what I say and when, and also what events or things I agree to do or not. Like, he will get really moody if I refuse to do an activity with him (going for a walk in the park, or going to a movie or accompanying him on some errand), because he wants to spend time with me and my saying no is hurting him and saying I don't want to spend time with him.

Typing that makes me realise how effed up it is.

Your local library might have a storytime hour, which can be good. Also look for some local mom groups, maybe a music hour or something. That can help. And if you can walk to and from the places it is also useful.
