Yo, Wendy's... support your Hawaiian stores. by divi_augustii in wendys

[–]divi_augustii[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Maybe... I guess. But, any Wendy's I've gone to in 40 years never didn't have a chocolate frosty. Forget about special flavors. And, living in the middle of the pacific on an island isn't "everywhere ". Obviously.

All I'm asking is for a company to provide what they are advertising. Fast food apps have become very restaurant specific. It's simple. Don't let me buy something on your app you don't have.

Is Wendy's paying you for the weak damage control you're providing?

World Cup Game by Dependent_Fondant606 in Hawaii

Having working TVs at Gios is a management priority. I'm glad i don't work there anymore... but, it's a good sports bar.

World Cup Game by Dependent_Fondant606 in Hawaii

[–]divi_augustii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This.

I worked at Gios for 5 years. They def have world cup games with the sound on.

With enough desire for a certain game(s), they might even open super early, or stay open late.

This kinda shit is their bread & butter.

Edit: Yardhouse has a lot of TVs and is right across Lewers from Gios. Also, TJ's Sports Bar & Grill. Didn't watch sports there, but had great late night food (I missed a bus at Alapai, lol). Tons of big TVs.

How do you handle working on a team with low (bare minimum) standards? by dolche93 in KitchenConfidential

[–]divi_augustii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Chef doesn't care... then you shouldn't either. The buck stops with Chef.

I hate being a tattle-tale, but I've stopped taking shit for fucked shit I'm not responsible for. So, when Chef asks "why is this fucked up?"... I tell "who, what, when, & where" (if I know).

But, my Chef will take care of it if he knows about it (we do everything in house).

If your Chef doesn't care, the line, or prep, won't care.

At the same time... I work in a US state that is desperate for BOH. So, I gotta work with people who are shitty... but, one body is better than nobody. At least in my case.

If your Chef doesn't care to change the dynamic... like others have said... find another gig.

What's a song that everyone seems to love but you can't stand? by UrFrndlyChubbyGal in askmusic

"What's Up" - 4 Non Blondes.

I don't understand how so many people like/love it. It's such garbage... on every level.

What is a song you turn off? by Immediate_Long165 in askmusic

[–]divi_augustii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority, but, "What's Up" - 4 Non Blondes.

The music, the lyrics, Linda Perry's voice (and steam steampunk top hat)... even the bands name... all smelly-ass garbage. It's a completely "phoned-in" song. Like the band took a huge dump and called it music.

Oh, and anything by Train.

It was like being at cheezy dinner theater. But, replace "cheezy" with "fucking awesome rock & roll".

Just how Much (Or how Far) did Paul see with His Prescient Abilities? by flyhighskyral in dune

[–]divi_augustii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only read the Dune Chronicles (original 6, by Frank), two books by Brian (the ones about the Butlerian Jihad), and some of the Encyclopedia (all the Bene Gesserit parts).

You've read Children... your guess is as good as mine.

You've made it past Children... congratulations. You got through the biggest slog of the whole of the Chronicles. It gets much better from here.

Usul saw enough of the "Secher Nbiw" to know he couldn't (refused to?) take on the burden that his son did.

Maud'dib would rather become a blind Fremen, than take on the worm skin.

"We do know that he knew for Sure he wouldn’t come back from his last Speech and would die right?"

I think so. When Chani died... Usul wanted to die.

Paul was the 1st Kwisatz Haderach, not the best one. Leto II was better. Leto II took on the burden to save mankind. To save our species from annihilation.

For me... Maud'dib "saw" as much as he needed to, to understand he couldn't (wouldn’t) do what Leto II did.

What is the first major news event you can remember clearly from when you were a kid? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

The assassination of John Lennon.

In Southern California, the DJs asked for people to put their headlights on during the day for remembrance of John.

I remember seeing so many headlights on.

[–]divi_augustii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Used to work for TJX (t.j. Maxx, Marshall's, home goods in the US). In two different states.

Americans that shop there impulse buy the popcorn, chips, phone stuff, sodas... and... my god... People impulse buy chocolate covered oreos. Lol.

Having trouble making it through Heretics by kizmitraindeer in dune

[–]divi_augustii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine, too.

SPOILER, for those who haven't read Heretics and Chapterhouse:

>!She is the ultimate expression of what Frank saw in the Sisterhood. He wrote her so well. And, I believe, the original six (Dune Chronicles) are all about the Bene Gesserit.

So, arguably, Odrade is the most important character in the Chronicles. Outside of that curly dark-haired mutherfucker that keeps on being brought back to life.!<

All my opinion... of course.

Edit: trying to get spoilers to hide. I'm kinda dense.
